This is the game that made E3 for me. It's the 4th Total war game.

Creative Assemblies "company line" from Gamspot.
Players will embark on a Grand Campaign to take control of their kingdom and cultivate it into a continents-spanning empire using whatever it takes including diplomacy, trade, religion, espionage and of course war. Leading armies across Europe, the Middle East, and even the Americas, players will encounter brutal real-time battles and the pure bloodlust of medieval warfare. As players progress, they will shape their empires by strategically determining whether to build castles for military power or cities for technology and trade, giving Medieval II: Total War a more emergent depth of gameplay.
Features
Stunning Graphics are cinematically presented and have twice the detail and richness of Rome: Total War.
Enhanced animations and finishing moves create fluid and realistic action onscreen
Unique blend of visceral real-time combat and grand empire building
Greater variety of new factions, units, and imperial agents
Improved individual units with different faces, clothing, armor and shields, swinging different weapons and riding various horses.
Historical authenticity offers players a chance to learn about the Crusades, Renaissance and the discovery of the Americas.
New multiplayer modes offer greater and more exciting challenges
Improved accessibility – including integrated tutorial and AI advisors – will walk new players through the Total War experience

Also this is PC and this is strategy.

It looks fun, but I think I'll probably end up prefering Civilization IV to this, real time "control EVERYTHING" games like this are just too frantic for me and don't really give me any time to think a strategy through.

Wow, this is a sequel that is LONG overdue. Is it five years, now?

Anyways, I disagree with the Civ 4 fan. Civilization sucks, and RTSs are the way to go. If you need extra time, just send out diversionary platoons, or just press the "pause" button or hit "esc" to go to the menu.

I've recently been reintroduced to how aggravating Black and White games are with my purchase of Black and White 2.

Obviously, RTSs need a jump forward, but I see the RTS as the evolution of the turn-based strategy game anyways, so that just makes old strategy games even worse. :(

I can't even install that.....every time I try, I get some stupid 'cyclic redundancy check error' or something :(

Hmmm, if you didn't pirate it, just keep clicking "okay" or re-install. Try DLing a patch, maybe.

To be fair the RTS battles are only 1/3 of a TW game, less iif you auto-calc battles. Most of it is a turn based city/empire builder.

See these are from the campagin map. Of Rome: Total war's expansion Barbarian invasion.

These are from RTW proper.

Well Creative Assembly did do a whole other game and 2 expansions (Rome: TW, RTW:BI, and RTW:Alexander) for it between MTW and M2TW.
