MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS
2009 Creature 90 min

The California coast is terrorized by two enormous prehistoric sea creatures as they battle each other for supremacy of the sea.

Starring Lorenzo Lamas and Debbie Gibson. Seriously.

Just because there have already been a thousand movies that have been deemed "Worst Movie Ever" doesn't mean that studios like The Asylum aren't still trying to top the list. This one should make the failblog for its title alone.

Good Lord. Are they even trying?

Awesome.

Well, when you call your movie "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus," I think it's a good indication that you're not making any effort whatsoever.

I now see why The Asylum usually makes blatant rip-off movies. They're even worse when they try to be (somewhat) original.

Although people are and will be knocking this...it's basically like any Godzilla VS film.

Seriously, I love the original Godzilla and all but those VS films are just as bad and cheesy. It's only because Godzilla is considered "classic" that he gets a free pass.

Don't get me wrong this film will be bad but I think if you can sit through Godzilla VS (insert whoever) then this won't be totally horrendous.

Here's another testament to The Asylum's talent for cranking out mediocrity.

Here we have the movie poster... err...DVD box cover... of their 9/11 commission report movie. I have to say that, compared to their usual craptastic images, this one is fairly effective. Except for one small detail.

THOSE AREN'T THE F**KING TWIN TOWERS.

For Christ's sake, it's bad enough that they would attempt to make people relive the most horrible day in our nation's history with bad actors and cheap special effects, but they couldn't even take the time to find an ACTUAL picture of the World Trade Center? Even if the image was copyrighted, I'm sure that they could have at least conjured up a convincing image on their computer. Idiots.

You're right, but at least those films made an attempt at being creative. For example, if "Godzilla Vs. Mothra" had been called "Massive Lizard Vs. Huge Bug" it would have been about 100 times worse than it actually was.

All because of the name?

I understand the name Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus is incredibly cheesy, it even makes me :lmao: just thinking about it. The thing with Godzilla Vs. (whoever) is that Godzilla is/was already a known character/name.

If they came out with Godzilla Vs. Mothra before any Godzilla movie was ever created, people would be like "Who in the F is Godzilla/Mothra?!".

I realize they could have given them actual names or a completely different name altogether, I just think that this movie could be worth a few laughs with some friends.

Wow...I'm seeing this movie.

The sad thing is, I probably will too. I host a bad movie night every few weeks with some friends, so I'm sure we'll end up renting this one at some point.

It might even be worse than "Special Dead."

Oh, no doubt about that. Everytime I find out about a movie like this, it makes me wish that MST3K was still on the air.

:csad:

Yeah, I miss that show and to be honest, you can only watch the old ones so many times before they get a bit old.

I want to see a good prehistoric shark movie, with good FX and preferably not Lorenzo Lamas:woot:.

I guess Super Sperm Whale vs. Mighty Sea Anemone is next.

If I get word that Lorenzo Lamas punches the shark in the face, I'm ****ing buying this.

What you guys neglect to see is that when you have a movie called "mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus", you don't need to try....you've already won. :woot:
