But, I've had open those threads and posted in 1 or 2 as a lark. One time to add, these games suck in the the 3 word story. Hahahaha, the guy got so mad. :up: But, finding out The Original Bamfer just watched the Batman Trailer, isn't going to bring us closer together.

It's better than it use to be. We all remember the alphabet threads.
 
The lounges are not better than they used to be. I've tried and tried in the past to rally up some form of decent conversation in the lounges... or hell, even random conversations that might develop into something more but to no avail. They seem content in their banality. The constant repetition of what goes on day in day out of the loungers was enough to drive me away.

I don't know if this has changed but here is what I've known to happen every day in the lounge:

  • Loungers greet each other... there are pages and pages of nothing but people saying hi and goodbye
  • Loungers small talk... boring small talk... boring small talk about things that people really and truly shouldn't give a flying **** about
  • Loungers complain about what ails them that day. "My stomach hurts", "My brain is leaking"... no, not even that amusing
  • Loungers talk about Batman Begins. EVERY DAY someone watches or talks about Batman Begins. This may have changed... its probably moved onto The Dark Knight by now. They're advancing.
  • Loungers talk about what's for lunch and dinner. Then they ignore what each other says about what they're having by saying, "Oh yeah? Well I am having _________ ". Its all very relevant and interesting though.
  • Loungers complain about having no job. Ha... haha... hahahahahahahahaha... *ahem*

Now I'm sure that with the addition of new loungers that some of the topics of conversation might have changed. But I'm pretty sure that a lot of it has stayed the same.

As far as the game threads... the only ones I really like are the ones where you can reply in a free speech manner. The ones where I just reply with a movie or a song bore me. The Ask a Question threads can be interesting... but sheesh people, ask some interesting questions whydontcha? You are given the chance to ask the most interesting questions you can ask and people will answer you (hopefully)... so what do you ask?

Leave a Message is not a game and can actually serve a purpose.

Yeah, that's why I added the Ask and Answer Thread. And that's why I posted a hard question but people totally googled the answer. F'ing cheaters.

I can see the purpose of the lounges though. They sort of house the small talkers in one location instead of letting them infect all the other threads with their hi/bye speech. It just amazes me the amount of hi/bye talk there is without one single funny or amusing post spread across pages and pages and pages in a lounge. I mean, there's a difference between thinking you are the funniest poster in existence and other people sharing your sentiments. To each his/her own and whatnot... but damn... boring is boring is boring. Grow a damn personality already.
