Microsoft Word help please

My wife is looking for anyplace that might have any Microsoft Word, Cheap.

Anyone here know where a person can find any version of Microsoft Word?

Its not Microsoft word but just as good and can save xml files which can be opened by word and its free and the wind.

Thank you but she needs Word. My wife is a writer and the places she submits her stories to say they won't accept anything unless it's on Word.

Open office is a GREAT substitute for Word...I use it at home...dont have any MS product at home except the OS itself.

Dude, OpenOffice can save her documents off as a Word file!

I have word at work....and edit word docs there...
I take it home and edit them on OpenOffice...then back to work...ect...

Never a problem

Same thing for my resume, typed it entirely in OpenOffice, and job places ONLY want Word docs...works great.

She says that the files have to be a " .doc " or " .rtf " files. Can OpenOffice do this?

Absolutely!
You can open an .odt (Open Document Format) file and then save it as an .doc (MS Word) or .rtf (Rich Text Format)

Works great.
The only issue is, is she uses Massive complex functionality in word there might be a problem, for for standard docs and things of that nature, I have yet to see a problem.

Download it while we are talking, shouldnt take a few minutes to download and install it.
Then see...then you will have to see for yourself.

It says to .pdf format also, which is great.

Its a series of programs that are "substitutes" for:
MS Word --> OpenOffice Writer
MS Excel --> OpenOffice Calc
MS Powerpoint --> OpenOffice Presentation
MS Access --> OpenOffice Base

Its a series of programs, try opening a MS Excel spreadsheet also, works great unless the spreadsheet is REALLLLLY complex.

That is great to hear.
Just remember its not a perfect 100% substitute, there are always differences...but for the "common typing we all do" that is absolutely minimal.
