Question about Microsoft Word

i recently had to re-install my Windows XP, but realized i didn't have Microsoft Word. i thought it came with the XP Operating System, because i did have Word before my computer crash. but, maybe Word was installed because i had a computer store fix my comp and the reloaded all the programs and stuff for me a couple years ago. so i think they installed Microsoft Office(with Word). back then.
now, my question is, how can i install Word back on my comp? do i have to go buy Microsoft Office? or is there some free download on the internet where i can just download Word itself? anyone, have an idea ?

Microsoft word has to be store brought (if you dont want to get it by other means), like you said the people who made your pc, put it on there as a bundle.

Try open office its pretty much the same but free

Try OpenOffice
Its a great alternative.
I personally have it installed on my personal laptop, and dont use MS Office anymore.
