Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

Nothing in that trailer that I felt like I haven't already seen before from an earlier M:I film. Consider me "Eh..." towards it.
the style is very similar to JJ. i think since this is Birds first movie he will not get a lot of freedom as a director.
thats why i hope he will not do a comicbook movie. after this he needs to do somethnig original where he will have a lot of freedom.
i am not hating the footage in the trailer. it looks decent.they got my ticket in december. but the look of the movie looks ''default''.

THIS TRAILER MAKES THE FILM LOOK LIKE UTTERLY UTTERLY COMPLETE...

... decent filmmaking :) I am pleasantly surprised

Holy ****! Wilkinson is in this? Nice.

The glimpse we got from action scenes looks really great and honestly the song was fine, but I loved the part when the theme was played for awhile towards the end. I can't wait for this.

it also looks like Sawyer is having hes own running scene in the movie. funny.

Oh man, the trailer was bloody amazing. Renner is a welcome addition to the franchise, and I can't wait to see the lovely Léa Seydoux and Michael Nyqvist teaming up and giving headaches to Tom Cruise.

This already looks like it might be the best Mission: Impossible movie yet.

Cool trailer, but they needed to lose that rap song, out of place and too distracting.

aren't they like diavowed in every f'in movie?

Not exactly. In the first one it was just Ethan & his team that they were after. The second one & third one was missions with Ethan & his team. The entire IMF being shut down is a first for the movie franchise

The cutting of the trailer was pretty great too. I got excited even before the Eminem music kicked in. When they showed the cuts of Ethan gearing up I was already going "Yeah!" It takes a lot for me to say "Whoa" or "Oohhhh Yeah!" in a movie. Much less a trailer. There a couple parts that made me go like that.

Yup. I"m seeing this. **** the haters. I love Tom Cruise.

Yeah, Cruise is the man. I even like Knight & Day, mostly because he was awesome in it.

Also, I think people are making too big a deal out of the Eminem music. I never understand why people freak out over music in trailers, because said music almost never makes it into the actual film.

Have people put aside their hate for Tom yet? I hope so. It's been 6 years since all that couch jumping stuff. The dude still makes good movies. This one looks cool so far.

People need to seperate Tom Cruise's private life with his films.Scientology may be a cult
but that Is his business. What public should focus on Is are his films good and Entertaining.

This looks great.Again It looks Like J.J. Abrams and the Alias Vets who wrote this brought
more Alias elements Into the Franchise. This looks even more than Mission Impossible III to be team film.withy Cruise as head of team.one of biggest critism of Mission Impossible II was It was more a Tom Cruise as American James Bond than a true Mission Impossible
film. And Cruise In these films Is defently one Star who does a lot of what you see his
character do.

Come this December we get Ethan Hunt on another Mission Impossible.Lost fans get
Josh Holloway In a major film. And Jeremy Renner gets his first taste as major character In Franchise film.

In the trailer we see Jeremy Renner character get the best of Ethan in their little shuffle, is it true his also taking over this franchise as well as the Bourne franchise?

Yeah, that was odd news !!. But then again Tom did KNIGHT & DAY just prior to this...and that was kinda spy comedy !! Thought he was saying goodbye to Ethan Hunt/M:I by that point !

I reckon they could always keep Tom in these as a kinda "Phelps mentor/planner" type character.Dosn't always have to be tall buildings & masks & running...!

Bingo. Hopefully they've backed off by now, but you never know.

No personal offense to anyone, but I'm glad none of you are making movies because if a trailer like that left you feeling "meh" or thinking that it was boring looking, like something you've seen again and again... I feel bad for you because you can't have a very fulfilling movie-viewing life.

That trailer was fantastic for what it was -- a trailer. It got me excited for the possibility of a new, ass-kicking Mission:Impossible movie. It was big explosions, punches, kicks, sexy ladies in sexy dresses (even though personally I think Paula Patton is a downgrade from Maggie Q), fast cars and lots of shooting... The trailer was cut perfectly to show off how intense the movie will be. And even though I completely despise Eminem and Pink, the music fit because it had a great beat that could sync up beautifully with the trailer beats.

These guys are making millions of dollars because they know what they're doing. And they are doing it quite well...

Saw the trailer in theaters and it was just epic crowd reaction, everyone cheered and I myself went ape****, this looks ****ing amazing.

BITE THY TONGUE!!! :cwink: PAUL PATTON IS NOT A DOWNGRADE!!!

I agree with the rest of what you said, though. Granted, I'm quick to pick on a movie that I think looks horrible (than new Three Musketeers movie, for example) but it seems like there are people out there that claim EVERY movie is going to be crap. It's as if we, as a society, are supposed to be cynical about everything and get excited for nothing anymore. It's a pretty sad way to go about life.

The trailer didn't do anything for me. I'm not excited, but I won't dismiss it either. For now I'll just wait.

for your eyes only....

After thinking about it for a minute, the choice of having Tom with long hair was a strategic and brilliant move. One of my biggest problems with M:I-2 was how it felt completely out of place from 1 and 3, in style, in character, in action, and pretty much everything else. Watching all three movies in order, back-to-back-to-back, is like watching M:I, then some Tom Cruise movie, then M:I-3.

Ghost Protocol, to me, seems like a hybrid of M:I-2 and M:I-3. You've got the directing style of J.J. Abrams, the default cinematography of M:I-3, the action of M:I-2, and Tom's long hair from M:I-2. It's like 2 and 3 smooshed together. And that's not a bad thing. We needed a sequel that sort of ties the first three together into one coherent package, because 2 seriously feels like it doesn't belong.

And I dig the pattern of Tom's hair: Short, Long, Short, Long.

And yes, these things matter to me. These are things I actually think about when I'm bored.

I agree... like someone else on here said... M:I 2 was just trying to be American James Bond, not Mission: Impossible. That would have been okay, I guess, had the story been interesting, but my God was it crap. I heard they actually started filming it before they had a complete script because all they cared about was the action.

Don't get me wrong, I love M:I-2 a lot. The action is off the wall and completely amazing. It just doesn't fit with the other two movies. It's like how Bruce Willis was bald in Live Free or Die Hard. Yeah, it's a Die Hard movie... but not really.

Sawyer better make it to the end without dying or betraying the team
