Morgaine le Fey

I don't know much about comics or much of DC or Marvel lore but I have a question about Morgaine le Fey. Why are there two in both DC and Marvel? I was just curious because I did a search on her and got two hits on both DC and Marvel.

Well, le Fey is actually a character from Arthurian legend, and since there's no ownership of that property and is in public domain. So, much like mythology figures and any other character without official ownership, she's totally up for grabs to use, much like characters like Hercules, whom is also represented with both of the two mainstream companies.
