I don't think that they will get one either. The great thing about Kratos is that he actually fits pretty well in the world of Mortal Kombat. Its not Darth Vader in Soul Calibre or a Halo Spartan in DOA. Kratos actually fits the world well. And I think that is why there is no 360 equivilant. Who does MS really have to put in Mortal Kombat? Master Chief (their obvious choice) would feel really out of place.
Someone like Marcus from Gears of War may work, but what does Marcus really have to offer when fighting guys who can spit fire and shoot ice?I suppose he would fit, if not for the fact that he'd basically be Stryker 2.0 (heavy weaponry instead of super powers or martial arts mastery).
But lets face it, that's really all that MS has to offer at this point. Two marquee characters. Neither of whom really work.
I agree. I think that the Mortal Kombat team put Kratos in the game simply because they really wanted to put in him in the game. Considering the kind of character Kratos is and how bloody God of War is, he actually fits perfectly in the game. It really has nothing out of loyalty to Sony or Sony paying for exclusive content, I think they just really wanted him in the game and if God of War were multiplatform, we'd see Kratos on the 360 version.
