I rented Paparazzi on dvd last weekend and this is what the cover looked like.

Of course in reality the real stars are Cole Hauser, Tom Sizemore, Robin Tunney and Dennis Farina. Gibson, Rock, McConaughey and Vaughn only have cameo roles.

lol...holy crap, that's rediculous...

That's worse than Kangaroo Jack being passed off as some talking Kangaroo family movie. And it so wasn't.

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead was advertised as Sin City 2. With Clive Owen wearing a black coat and holding a gun on the DVD cover. There was virtually NO violence in the movie, it was slow-paced and very quiet. I liked the movie though.

Two guys chasing a Kangaroo that stole their money I believe. I couldn't watch it completely. It did have Christopher Walken...

the real question here is why the hell would you rent that piece of crap in the first place?

A famous case of avertisement selling what the movie was not really was Hulk. Trailers sold it as an action-packed blockbuster, taking awaw from its more character-driven nature.

I dunno about you guys, but Snakes On A Plane totally shocked me when I saw it.:cmad:

Yes, good question.

I never the liked the way the recent Phantom of the Opera film was advertised in trailers and TV spots. The film was based on the ALW music version, but they never showed any of the cast member singing in the ads, acting as if it wasn't a musical.

If you didn't know about the musical (which would be kinda weird), you probably wouldn't know the movie was a musical, either. The most you ever got was the music playing in the background.

I remember when Snow Dogs was advertised as Dr. Dolittle 3.

The ad's made it seem that the movie was centered around this talking kangaroo. The kangaroo wasn't the star, but did have a important role.

A lot of people don't want to see a character driven Hulk movie. I am one of them. I want to see Hulk Smash for around 100 minutes. Is that to much to ask?

100 minutes of The Hulk smashing would get real boring after about 20 minutes if there wasn't any narrative to make it mean something. Maybe Ang's vision was a little drawn out and moody for some people, but at least when he did Hulk out it mattered(except maybe the end :D)

But that's not all The Hulk is. The best Hulk stories are psychological thrillers.

Misleading Advertising ....

Lets talk Star Wars .... Maul and Vader slapped on everything from lunch tins to crisp packets.

Maul had a bit part and Vader showed up 20 seconds from the end ..... and still managed to ruin the movie.
