It seems like Hollywood seems to follow a pattern all movies seem alike now as Hollywood lives by if it works we will beat it to death. So what's the most original film you have seen in a decade?

so i had to now google every movie that i saw and find out if it had an orignal story?

Frquency
GalaxyQuest
Monster house
My scinice project it old moive.
Daster in time it came out 1980s it stilll awesome moive.

Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind immediately come to mind. Ditto with The Fountain.

I'm going to have to agree with Frequency. Pretty original idea. Great flick.

Would "Teeth" count? I've never seen a movie with a penis eating vagina.:o:huh:

15 Minutes
Murder Party
Fido
Six String Samurai

I probably missed some...

Wall-E. While it was somewhat derivative of "end of the world" scenarios, the inclusion of the robot gave it an original spin.

Get out of my brain! :cmad: I was going to say those! :woot:

But yeah, more Aronofsky stuff:

Pi (Came out around 98, but I saw it in 2006 :o)
Requiem For A Dream

I'll have to think of others.

The Bands Visit
Adaptation
Waltz With Bashir
Brick
Joint Security Area
Revolver

All the M. Night Shyamalon films. Takes some tired genres and takes them to a whole new level.

That is such a stupid, naive statement. But then again, you like Chris Nolan, so that explains it.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Donnie Darko, both of which have already been mentioned in this thread.

Jason X .. we never seen jason in space before.

Snakes on a Plane...I mean, really? Who the hell saw that coming?

Adaptation. The concept and delivery was just phenomenal.

Amelie. I adore this movie and I know at first glance it comes across as being a rom com, but for a romance it took it to the next level...all the magical elements, how much Amelie's imagination plays into it. I think a lot of movies since have been influenced by Amelie.

I would add Eternal Sunshine but I don't know if that was original.
