Does anybody else here watch movies on TV just because they're on? I do fairly frequently; I'll be up late, and if there's either something good or even something that could be ok I'll watch it. I've watched quite a few movies like that, some I even liked, such as Dark City (which was on Space, I will add...unedited, I'm pretty sure), One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (local channel...also unedited, but tons of commercials) and a couple of watchable ones, like a censored Lake Placid and most of Cold Creek Manor (on second thought, that kinda sucked, but not unwatchably so). Has anybody else done that, and, if yes, what have you watched?

I always watch movies just because they are on.
Just got done watching The Replacements.

They left out really good parts from the theatrical version. :(
TV also murdered Freddy vs. Jason. It is so edited, that you don't really get to see Jason get the smackdown by Freddy.

i taped last weeks foriegner double feature in usa and the walker texas ranger sons of thunder movie [edited into two parts for syndication purposes but still originally a tv movie]on the hallmark channel
edit unfortunately the walker episodes were on a defective tape no sound and it broke so i had to throe it away

Have you ever tried watching any of Kevin Smiths movies on Comedy Central? Ugh, its HORRIBLE!

I saw rocky II yesterday afternoon. Also, FX seems to have X2, BlackHawk Down on heavy rotation.

Movies are so much better in the theater.

TBS, USA, FX - they tend to have pretty good movies on if you hit them right. I watch HBO quite frequently as well.

The films I watch on TV, I watch only because they are on.

I would have bought/watched anything I expected to like before it came on TV.

Sadly, yes. I watched The Postman last night, not to conclusion. But what I saw was quite entertaining. I laughed and I laughed and I laughed, I really don't like Kevin Costner, I can't stand the sight of him.

watching movies on tv is the main reason Ive seen so many in my time(how else could I see White Water Summer), although seeing them at the theater is 50X better.

depends on what movie it is, and what channel it's playing on. I actually won't watch anything on AMC anymore. 1. They show the same 4 commercials about 6 times during commercial breaks....TOO MANY TIMES!!! 2. They show the same 5 movies all week before switching the rotation.

But if i haven't seen the movie in a LOOOONG time and it isnt on AMC, i'd probably watch it.

I used to look foward to watching movies on AMC, but not anymore. I don't watch alot of TV either. Nothing is ever on. Occasionally, one of the premium channels shows something good, so i'll watch it becuase it's commercial free and uncensored

i liked amc better when the didn't have cooercial interuptions as well

One time The Thomas Crown Affair was on (the one with Pierce Brosnan), and I was hoping against hope, but it was true - no 5-minute sex scene from the floor to the stairs to on top of the books in the study, no Rene Russo sunbathing topless, not even the slinky see-through dress she has in the erotic dancing with Brosnan's character. :D

I hate watching R movies on tv considering all the bad words and violent or "inappropriate" scenes are cut out. And A&e practically rape Batman Returns everytime they air it.

I actually think it would be a great idea to start a "Heads Up" thread and sticky it. Seven Samurai's coming on TV - give a heads up, Hitchcock triple feature coming on next month- heads up

That way everyone can help each other to see some of the classics and even get some more talk about classic movies.

A station here in Canada is going to be playing both volumes of Kill Bill at some point this year; I want to watch just to see how badly they edit them.
