The Box has a show called 'signed by the box' which in the spirit of diversity provides sign language for deaf people to 'hear' music. (don't ask me how that works!) It provides hilarity for the rest of us. I could only find a few crappy examples on youtube but take a peek

you work it girl! shake that booty.:hehe:

The thread title is an oxymoron.

I thought this thread might have been about the Queen of the Stone Age album.

I was wrong . . .

explain what?
You've gone over the topic of how deaf people can "hear" (The right word to described it escapes me at the moment) music more than once, if my memory is correct.

we feel the vibrations, deaf people usually have a better sense of touch then normal people. Sort of like Daredevil hearing sense I guess :word:

Wait what:huh:

But DD was blind:huh:

but recall that movie when he was using the radar sense? some deaf actually can feel the pressure of a fist thrown at them

So an explosion would make a deaf person all wonky? Like lose their balance and stuff?

But a radar sense is absolutely pointless for someone who can see. I get the point of this story I just don't get the analogy with DD. Has there not been any awesome deaf superheroes?

And the radar sense only worked because his hearing was heightened.

He had better balance though, maybe you have that? Haha

Think of this, if someone tries to sneak up to a deaf person, sometimes the deaf person can 'feel' the person behind him due to vibrations

I can do that though and I can hear...

I just think it was a confusing analogy that really doesn't apply.

Morg, do you play a musical instrument? I have the cutest music books to teach very young deaf students piano.

So the shockwave from the explosion wouldn't be some sensory overload type thing?

Like when a dog whistle is blown and spooks the weiner dog

Not to me, been near explosives before, I can feel the pressure wave and feel the boom but that's it
