This started out as a simple little repaint and turned into a labor of love.lol Ive been working on this for a bit now and have finally finished up tonight. There are a couple of other characters that I may add, but for the most part, this is complete.

Ill also share exactly what I did for the customizing. The Batcave itself is a Toy Biz 1989 Batcave playset. I simply repainted the whole thing with a combination of paints to give it a wet and dry look for that subterranian feel. I also painted all the pipes and metal parts to help further the look of the actual 89 cave. The platform for the Batmobile is styrofoam covered in art paper and foamie. I raised the one platform with a shaft made from silver poster board and made the stairs from foamie to link it to the 'mobile platform.

Bruce Wayne/Control center

The Bruce Wayne is just a repainted Kenner DKC figure with a folder cut from an actual manilla folder. The computer console is taken from the Kenner Wayne Manor playset and repainted. For the screens I just printed out some pics I took off the computer and glued them on.

Harvey Dent

Who doesnt want a BDW Dent figure?lol I tried with this one, this is the one figure I wish I could get a better resemblance for. The body is an animated Ra's that I replaced the hands on. The head is from a Total Justice Black Lightning. The flower is sculpey and is glued on.

Joker / Bob the Goon

Well, most should know the story behind the Joker. Its just a simple repaint, as is Bob, to better match the movie costumes.

Alfred / Batman / and the Vault

Alfred is an animated Alfred figure, repainted, with sculpey added for the hair. Batman is a DKC Batman that I repainted, added a pleather cape, (with wire for posing), and new emblem. This all gives him a more movie quality look. The vault is made from silver poster board and some foamie. The costume is just a print out taped to the backside of the door opening. The rock casing is a leftover piece from an 89 RPM set that I cut and placed together as one unit. The Batman on the top platform is a custom Toy Biz Batman that I repainted to look like the prototype figure that was used in the old advertisements.

Vicki Vale / Batmobile

Vale is an Invisible Woman that I removed and shortened the legs on. I then reattached them to eliminate her hero pose. I had to heat up and reform her hands as she originally had a karate chop pose. The skirt is material that I repainted to match the top. The bag is from a DCD Batwoman. The Batmobile is a Toy Biz one that I repainted and added a roof to.

Coool. When I was younger, before I had to sell them off, I had all the Batcaves and used to just sit them next to each other.

I always wanted a roof for my Batmobile... and a Vicki Vale :(

Very very impressive. Love it.

But I have a question. Why didn't you use a Lando Calrissian head for the Harvey Dent figure?

Beautiful work man.

I love anything Batman from 1989 and 1992.

Ahh.. Those were the days to be a Batman fan.

Im lovin it! I used to have the toy biz 89 batcave, that damn thing was flimsy!

Outrageously cool. :batman: :batty:

That is an amazing Batcave! I wish I had the patience and time to create something like that.

yeah i dont get why the original batmobile toy from '89 didnt have a hood on the top. they made one later that had one, but nowadays its so hard to find, and when you do, they are expensive as hell. same goes for the batmissle, which is the one i want the most.

damn, thats awesome. Wish I had the time, money, resources, patients, room, and talent to have something like that

Wow, amazing work.

You should convert the entire interior of your house into a batcave.

It used to totally annoy that the batmobile didnt have a roof

Closeups of the Batman are much needed. Here is a quick custom of Batman from 89 I made, using the DK collection stuff (seeing as how it was much better)

I took a Razor Whip Batman, which was the only figure in DKC with the gauntlets. And I put the Bruce Wayne head on the figure, thus adding the cowl it came with (giving it that oversized mask look from the movie) ... and BANG ...

The Batman on top is simply a repainted SP Batman. Theres a thread on it somewhere on here.

The other one is just a customized DKC Batman. I used pleather for the cape and added thin wire to it for the cape ribs so that I can shape it. I added an accurate 89 emblem that I printed from the computer and repainted the whole thing. I did add little armor plates to the gloves, but you cant see them.

i have a question, how the heck did you make the top for the B89 toybiz batmobile? i want to know.

That's the Batmissile (I think). It's a single-seater and the whole thing comes apart.

Its the Toy Biz one. I just cut a piece of foamie to fit the top and painted it. Then glued it into place.
