...hey guys, i'd really appreciate any help i can get for a problem that's been bugging me for a few weeks now. i recently reformatted my hard drive and installed Windows onto it. it's a working copy because it worked fine before but once i reformatted and reinstalled Windows it started going straight into the Admin account without going to an account selection screen.

now i figure it's because it's the only account on there so i activate the guest account along with making another account for myself. i turn off the computer and it goes right back to Admin without stopping at the account selection screen and it's been doing it ever since. i have to log off of Admin just to get to the account selection screen...but another problem arose. every now and then that screen won't let me type my password under my username and the only other user shown is the guest account. so i have to goto the guest account, log back out and THEN i can type my password to get into the account that i wanted to get to in the first place...hehe.

so in short, Windows logs me straight into my admin account for some reason. has anyone experienced anything like this? my buddy's been playing with computers for over 10 years and he hasn't seen that before. any advice, pointers, tips, tricks is appreciated!

I assume you're using XP. Download and Install Windows XP Power Toys:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Once done that, Under Tweak UI, you could configure the default profile you want to use. The account selection only exists if you have more than one account activated in Windows. Not knowing which version of XP you're using, that is the safest bet. If you're using Pro, you could manipulate this behaviour in Advance User Management Setting.

You’re computer is killing itself because you’re typing the word ain’t on it’s keyboard.
