    I share my PC with my roomie. [Generous, ain't it?]. He's got his own account, and I have mine. Whenever I log in, and he's logged on, I get a message that says "Windows UI has encountered an error and needs to close". And there's usually a lot of these. I dunno how to fix it--I thought it might have been his screensaver, but now I know it's not. I dunno what the deal is. Any thoughts?

    so does he have a problem with logging in if you're logged on too? and if he's not logged on then the error doesn't come up?

    Try checking the Registry...

    go to the Start Menu and click Run, type in "regedit" and hit enter

    when the Registry Editor opens, follow this path:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> Microsoft --> Windows NT --> Current Version --> Winlogon

    select Winlogon and then open "UIHost" on the right... it should say "logonui.exe" for the value data, if it doesn't, type that in and click ok.
