I was thinking about this the other day. Can anyone name any Marvel hero that has NEVER been corrupted, brainwashed or whatever. The only one I can really think of is Spider-Man (I'm not counting the deal with Mephisto). Captain America was turned bad by Nightmare once. And Cyclops merged with Apocalypse. Anybody got any names? Reed Richards maybe? I don't recall him ever turning evil for a time.

Reed Richards has been evil before. At least acted evil.
-Cloneing thor
-Not to mention all the times some future evil version of himself have shown up.

Hmmm, Nightcrawler? Cloak and Dagger, Jubilee, Longshot?

Well, spidey smacked mj real good once, and just recently was Dark Spidey in the Mister negative mini....

Spidey once had amnesia, and was convinced (by Doc Ock) that he was his partner...

This occurs in ASM #54 to 57... back in 1967.

:yay:

The Thing has been mind controlled several times by the Puppet Master. He also felt sorry for the Hulk early in his career and those two palled around and started throwing **** from the St. Louis arch.

He's been a thug at times but never "evil" per se.

:thing: :thing: :thing:

I know Firestar was originally under Emma Frost and the Hellfire club but I can't think of a time that she was ever "evil" per se.

And I don't think she'd have killed Carnage even if Spidey hadn't told her to stop in Maximum Carnage... I don't think she'd have had it in her.

Oh and The Thing... if he has been, I can't remember it...

But he's gone over the "edge" a few times...

See? This is why it's kind of a dumb question... most heroes have never "turned evil" (except for Hal Jordan & Hawk/Captain Atom), but practically all of our beloved heroes have done bad things in the last 50 years... sometimes, it makes the comics more interesting...

I think the question should be which heroes HAVE turned evil?

:yay:

Oh yeah, Dove... that's a fairly obvious one in retrospect...

But he's gone over the "edge" a few times...

That depends on the comic book writer.

Some writers for example like Frank Miller write Batman as gone over the edge.

but practically all of our beloved heroes have done bad things in the last 50 years... sometimes, it makes the comics more interesting...

Yeah, the world is grey not black & white.

But I personally prefer the Batman that makes human mistakes not the one that does bad things.

Same here... and one that will use his detective skills... that's the Bats I love.

:yay:

The first person I thought of was Beast. I can't think of his ever going bad for any reason at all. His alternate Age of Apocalypse self is evil, but I think Beast has alway been good.

But the Age of Apocalypse was an offshoot of the 616 universe; everything was exactly the same until Legion killed Xavier. So technically the AoA Dark Beast is an evil 616 Beast.

Another one for Spidey: Wasn't he programmed to kill MJ in the Clone Saga and Ben Reilly had to stop him?

Thor's got two bouts of debatable "evilness" that I can recall, in case anyone cares. Just figured I'd throw that out there because I'm me. :thor:

Plus Spidey/Daredevil and the circus... the whole ringmaster schmozzle...

Oh snapple, that's another one for Thor as well. Although he only robbed a bank with them. Stupid Ringmaster.
