So, I understand there's professional basketball in the United States of America tonight. :mnm:

What a time to be alive.

It must be strange living in a country that mistakenly clings to the belief that other sport exists during a Rugby World Cup...

Love the balance the Heat showed. Some funky lineups, but the general sharpness was just dreamy.

I commend you for actually using the word "dreamy"

Rubio looks great, Kobe looks like he'll continue his sad decline into retirement. My god, 8-24?

He started off fine, bad second half. For the record, plenty of guys shot bad, from Harden to Durant to Melo to LeBron. I wouldn't put too much into the first few games, with conditioning and rust affecting everybody. But I know Kobe doesn't have that luxury, even at advanced age. Just hope you comment on his good games with the same fervor...

None of those guys shot 37% last year though. I think most Laker fans would prefer Kobe take a step back and stop shooting so much to allow Clarkson, Randle and Russel to develop, wouldn't they?

They'll develop just fine if that's their focus to do so. Nobody wants a poor shooting percentage, my point was plenty of marquee players struggle early on in the season (I forgot to put Derrick Rose, Anthony Davis & Paul George in there too, they were bad as well). And none of them are criticized for it.

Its not like he came out firing, he was good in the first half. Then he lost his legs and kept launching 3's. Horrible second half, no doubt, I'm just saying it happens. On the same token, if you're not gonna run in here and give him props when he does have a good game, then why do it at all? I just want consistency.

The Cavs with this current team can make it to the Finals. Be very afraid when Irving and Shump get back.

Miami isn't afraid. LeBron plays soft against us. Our defense and shooting has significantly improved with Bosh and McRoberts back, and the additions of Winslow and Green.

Miami's bench > Cleveland's bench

Lebron just shows Miami too much respect. That stops this season. Heat lose tonight. I appreciate your fandom, but seriousy the heat would maybe win two in a series.

Fandom? Dude, you guys just blew your load on Tristian Thompson. Your depth is gonna suffer for it. Miami's bench includes Winslow, McRoberts, Green, Stoudemire, Haslem, T. Johnson, and Andersen.

Your bench can't compete with that.

Who cares about bench when Cleveland has Lebron, Irving and Love. Any team with Lebron is the favorite in the east, Heat fans should know this more than anyone.

Love is inconsistent against The Heat (has been before going to Cleveland) and Chalmers still owns Irving defensively.

The bench indeed plays a factor in this match up. Unless you believe LeBron with a spazzing back is enough to handle an entire team through a seven game series...

Dude you said the same thing last year hyping up no names like Ennis and Napier. No one cares about Haslem, Johnson or Chris Andersen. Come playoff time its your top 8 guys that really matter. Cleveland knows its 8 guys. Lebron/Irving/Love/Mosgov/JR/Shumpert/Thompson/Mo Williams or Delly. I would never hang my hat on Mario freaking Chalmers cancelling out Kyrie. The Heat might win tonight's game, but I still would put my money on the Cavs come playoff time.

Last year we lost McRoberts and Bosh for the season, and we didn't have a shooter like Green and a defensive prospect like Winslow. Guess what? We do now. Barring, of course, any major injuries, this season will be way more competitive.

You should care because they're the bottom floor guys now, not the midlevel guys on the bench. Smith, Shumpert and Thompson -- Knick rejects/outcasts. Oh, I'm shaking. :o In addition, Chalmers averages 2.1 steals, 1.4 blocks, and a 22.7 rating whenever he's matched up against Irving.

Then there's Whiteside. Nuff said.

If the Bulls stay healthy, and that is a big if, but if the do I'd say they are a solid second favorite in the East. The Heat are 4 or 5 imo. I still think the Hawks have some muscle.
