NBA: "Who will Rise" Commercial (video)

Thanks AD, I'll put it in the archives later.....but we need your thread to discuss .....

You know the Title of this movie works very well in so many ways. It is just a natural.

Spiderman has set a pretty high bar, BO wise. Who will rise to the challenge, which movie, will it be FF2, or Pirates or Shrek.

Who indeed will rise to the challenge, is it in you?

I love the new shot of them all walking along in what I assume is Shanghai. :D Very cool!!

Yeah the promotion is starting to kick it into high gear. I'm sure we have lots more to look forward to. I think they have enough footage to play with though. Please...no more! Dont' spoil it Fox! The mystery helps hype it up more!

this "who will rise?" and all other Rise tagline talk is reminding me so much of The Last Stand..."who will stand with"..."this summer...take a stand"...I don't like it all that much.

^^ You did not like that X3 promotion, I thought it was brilliant, it sorts of brings the fans into the whole movie going experience.

But yeah I know a lot of hardcore fans did not like X3. I guess I never cared that much for Xmen or I too might have been similarly outraged at what they did to cyclops and Jean, but hey maybe that was fox's mistake. they made it dark and the fans hated the deaths. It was fun for me though. I enjoyed it the most of all the films.

I think that is because I was never invested in those characters that much. If they killed off Torch or Susan for instance or Thing or Reed I would probably not want to see another FF movie by Fox.

The X3 promotion was brilliant. The movie raked it in, so the promotion apparently did its job.

I don't think we're going to see any FF movie end with a regular character "dead." There's an unending supply of X-Men after all. :cwink: Anyway, Cyclops and Jean aren't dead. The real Jean is still at the bottom of the lake in a telekenetic cocoon, and we never saw Cyclops' body. He's wandering around Vancouver with amnesia, begging for cheese.

Hey don't give Fox any ideas, they might think it might be nice to put in a cliffhanger at the last moment.

Of course he's not dead. *goes into dweeby geek voice* "He's wrapped in a cocoon of telekinetic energyyyyyyyy!!!" :wow:

:down:mad:

Lame.

Nice spot though. I love the shot of the Four walking in unison like cool pimps. LOL :woot:

Pretty good commercial. Though the NBA/FF1 spot with Magic Johnson was better.

yeah but it would have been better, had the movie logo come up at the end with the date of the release with the playoffs logo...sooooo I give it a C+ but yes the four walking was cool.

Well that is where the real Jean Grey was in the comics during the whole Dark Phoenix storyline. Just sayin'. If they want to follow the source material, there you go.
There's so many ways to revive those characters. I still want to know how Xavier can possibly still look like Xavier now that he's in another body.

The walking was a nice shot, yeah. The rest of it I found severely lacking. Juxtaposing images from FF2 with NBA action...Just doesn't work for me. And yeah, no film title, no release date, nothing! I give it a D- myself.
The Magic Johnson spot in 2005 was gold. This is tin foil.

Think about it. Jean survives being crushed and drowning when an entire lake falls on top of her. Do you really think being skewered by Wolverine is going to really kill her? And maybe I've watched too much Buffy, but if there isn't a body, chances are, they ain't dead yet.

>^^<

A heads up, Next week on the CW there will be a Fantastic Four Feature with Jessica and Chris during the Smallville, Supernatural block (7-9 pm central time). I don't know if the others will appear but Alba and Evans did the info spot. If no one posts it by Wednesday of next week I will put it in a thread.

The new body, is it not his long comatose twin. There ya go!

Heh. In comics, no one's ever dead, even when there is a body.
In fact, in the history of Marvel comics, very few major characters have stayed dead. Let's see there's Uncle Ben, Captain Stacey & Gwen Stacey (from Spider-man) and Jim Wilson (from Hulk) and..um...

This past year they even brought back Captain America's long-dead sidekick, Bucky (as -ugh- "the Winter Soldier") and Captain Mar-vell (in a very poorly executed 13-page Civil War tie-in). Both had been "dead" for over 25 years.
It's very hard to take death seriously in comics.

Nice new shot,Not as cool as the Michael Johnson one last time but hopefully it won't upset Echostation as much:woot:

I don't know... it shows guys shooting hoops apparently happening in the same world as a flying fire-man and sky-surfing silver guy. I mean what are we teaching our kids?? :woot: They're gonna be so confused!

They're already confused......blame it on me.

I do agree the promotion on X3's "take a stand" taglines and FF2's continued play on "rise" is pretty good and catchy...and definitely works...all I'm saying is...i find it very annoying.

I think, I might have liked it more, had it been better quality.....what we have on you tube pretty well sucks as far as quality...

I liked it a hell of a lot better than the one with Magic Johnson, last movie.
