Neal Adams Black And White Statue

Nice. I Just bought the Risso statue and LOVE it. I want the Mignola one, but it's WAY to expensive on eBay. :(

Anyways I can't wait for the Frank Miller or the Bob Kane one. Both are just beautiful!

Damn your the third one telling me that bought the Risso one! I'm looking for ages for that one.

Risso!

I got mine pretty cheap, a month and a half ago. I got it for 60. There have been several on eBay lately selling for 150-175. So keep a look out! It's beautiful...

If you have the Mignola statue I'll trade you my Risso!

why the hell is the risso one so expensive?

i bought one when it first came out and it's going for around 100 bucks now?

i put it on display for a while then put it back in the box because it looked terrible. i still don't know why i bought it in the first place but i guess now i can make some profit...

It was the first statue to come out (a couple of years ago and with certain collectibles the price goes up with age) from the line.

Are you sure you're talking about the Risso statue though? Cause that's a great looking statue. It's one of the most perfect depictions of Batman ever, to me anyways.

oh, i must've mistook it for a play-doh statue i slapped together with thighs and ball sack.

of course it's the risso piece. i just hate the art style. mine is number 626. i'm probably going to sell it; it's in basically perfect condition.

i'll probably use the money to get the jim lee statue and pocket the rest.

No need to be an ass about it! Anyways, I don't see that much of a difference between the art styles of E. Risso and Jim Lee. To each his own I guess, cause I don't like the Jim Lee B&W statue. :meow:

EDIT: fixed the images!

Hi Guys,
i thought you might like to have a look at some of the NA Batman B/W progress shots.
One of the toughest things about doing something to someone's style is taking photos at the right angles so as not to distort the look of the piece.
The painted version was done really quickly for the Chicago show and doesn't reflect exactly what the final product is going to look like. The cowl will not be black and the symbol on Batman's chest will be bigger and higher up on his chest. The grey lines they painted int his face will be removed. The guys at DC Direct are being just great about the project. Dad has recently sent over his changes in the paint.
It was important to my father to make this piece represent his version of Batman. Some of the earliest stuff had been inked quickly by other artists and looked a certain way, but if you've ever seen his pencils, you'd understand that the way he draws batman has a more athletic look than the way some of it was inked. The important thing to me was doing it to my fathers satisfaction. I went through more revisions than I ever did before to get this one done to make it look exactly as he wanted it to represent his Batman. I realize some people would prefer it match this drawing or that and there will always be opinions no matter what direction it was taken, but since it looks the way Neal Adams wants it to look, I figure it looks right.
Again, sometimes photos distort, like the painted shot does give the impression that the jaw is too square. You'll see in the photos below that it actually looks different from that shot. Yeah, I'd say he wanted it to look more like the cover he did for the first Batman Collection Hard Cover book rather that the old one which was actually a very small image made into a cover and probably not inked by him. Anyway, I am running late for work. Hope you all like the photos.

I certainly agree on the Neal Adams. I need to see more pics of the Jim Lee one. I think the Frank Miller one kicks uber-ass, not to happy about the price hike, but I ebay all my statues anyways, so I usually pay well below retail. This is going to be a good year for DC Direct. They have a LOT of great things coming out...

This is ridiculous though!

:(

That statue is amazingly detailed and truely shows off the muscles and whatnot, I'm not a big statue collector but I'd definitely would buy that.

Wow!

Great sculpt! This guy really managed to get all that movement in a static form, this is a fu**ing beauty!
Plus, this pose is from that story which brought me definitely to Batman! "Joker's five way revenge". Batgasm!

It looks great  The Frank Miller will rule all though

Does anyone have a Risso or Mignola they want to sell?

I finally got a Risso AND a Mignola!!! hells yea! The Mignola cost over 100$ but it was worth every penny

Yeah you are totally right. Pictures don't even do it justice. I didn't think it would be my favorite, but like everyone else said, now that he is in my collection he is definatley my favorite.
