First wave will include the 4 turtles, 2nd wave in the spring will have variations of the turtles plus some secondary characters. Each turtle will have the same body sculpt, but will have unique heads.

so most likely the 2nd wave will feature the "colored" turtles

I actually bought a few Raphaels when they had the 10 year anniversary so I could make a display of the turtles in all red bandanas. I think I might just stick with that. If these figs were $10 a pop I'd probably buy, but I won't pay more than that and I'm sure they'll be $15 each.

I might be tempted....though it the second wave is colored I might get them....otherwize it's an easy paint job.

hey bud, read posts... we don't know... all we've heard is "variations" of the turtles in wave 2... i took the liberty to assume they'd be the colored versions... so here hoping

And an update from the 5th Turtle...

Late March/April street dates for both individual and boxed set (of all four turtles). Still in pricing stage with factories but looking at different options as follows:

1) individual turtles with all accessories and bases

2) individual turtles with just the character specific “essential” accessories; no bases

3) boxed set of all 4 turtles with all accessories and bases

The rationale behind the individual turtles with just their character specific “essential” accessories option is to hit a lower price point for some of our customers.

It seems to me that NECA came on strong when first attaining the TMNT license: they presented an ambitious 2-year character release plan and quickly followed up by submitting the four turtle sculpts. Since then, though - at least IMO - energy seems to have been lost, giving way to a more diffuse atmosphere. Instead of an initial wave launch of the four turtles and one secondary character as originally planned, NECA's Previews solicitation consisted only of the four turtles, and to date we have not received sculpts of any secondary characters, let alone a firm commitment to a specific "first release" secondary character. To quote NECA: "In an effort to introduce the line early in the year and to be able to ship before Chinese New Year, NECA is going to offer the classic four turtles first. Plans are to re-fresh the line in Spring ’08 with variations on the turtles along with new characters like April and the Foot Soldier." Okay, I guess. Street date for the first four remains March/April, although we have yet to see any packaging concepts. Time to light a fire.

Yep. They usually make quite a big deal of it too, to be honest.

Those Turtles look awesome. Raph is a must for me. I love Raph.

Raph's always been my favorite. From this line, I'd get him. If future lines are to be with colored gear, I'll pick all 4 up. I really love the Turtles, like these toys quite a bit, but the cartoon was my introduction to the Turtles...gotta have colored gear.

They're probably not gonna have colored gear seeing as they're based off the Mirage comics.

It's possible to that they'll make the Turtles with their 4-color masks. Maybe they'll do them as convention exclusives or chase figures of some kind. But I know thart they'll have B&W figures.
