Last year, I used to read alot of Marvel comics. From New Avengers to Runaways to X-men, but somewhere along hte line, I kinda stopped after Civil War. Right now, Im only reading the 4 books in Messiah Complex + Astonishing X-men. I feel so lost with whats going on in the MU and completely skipped WWH. What titles should I check out? What are the best Marvel books and what do people recommend

Iron Man, Thor, Avengers: The Initiative, aaaaand that's all I can think of right now.

Hulk sorta lost, but it was kind of odd. I guess Tony ultimately took him down with his sattelite gun. But like I said, kinda odd. Apparently Hulk will be red now.

Tony's the head of SHIELD, Cap's dead, and all sorts of antics.

Captain America,Thor,Iron Man,Incredible Hercules,Iron Fist,Daredevil,The Order,Thunderbolts,Punisher War Journal...all good stuff

you might want to branch out too to non Marvel stuff like DC,Dark Horse,Image or Dynamite just to name a few

be free you x-junkie :D

I think he's only talking about his Marvel collection.

But if he's not. Then yeah, do some Dynamite and Image!

You should go back and check out WWH, it was pretty entertaining. Go back and start from Planet Hulk, too.

Im really not into solo series so I couldnt get into Daredevil and Cap A even before. I did however read the first 3 issus of Thor and liked it. I also read Amazing Spider-man around CW but the recent change with the 3 times a month is a turnoff

Im more into team titles. How are Runaways, New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Initiative, New Warriors and Fantstic Four doing?

Oh Im only doing Marvel. The other companies have too much history that Im not about to learn. I only branched out of non-X-men stuff a couple of years ago and even that was alot to take on. Im not about to do a whole new brand

You do read some Image stuff, don't you? If not, you're missing out on Invincible, and The Walking Dead, amongst others.

But, I've just been mainly reading anything Annihilation related, Immortal Iron Fist, She-Hulk...embrace these new comics. Oh, and track down Annihilation: Conquest - Starlord. That's been my favourite part of Annihilation so far. Lesbian cosmic women and emo-esque killers didn't do it for me. Star-Lord did

In that case,Thunderbolts and The Order if you want solid team books from Marvel.Trades-wise,definitely check out Runaways and the Ultimates.

You might even want to go back and pick up trades of the Authority by Warren Ellis. To be honest, anything from the other companies is much easier to pick up than anything from Marvel or DC.Authority is Wildstorm and there is seriously nothing you have to know before reading Ellis' and Mark's first run.

I hear Dynamo 5 is another gem of a team book as well.

Putting the word out for recommendations here on the Hype is a sure-fire way to break your wallet.

Young Avengers is one to try if you haven't.
I read YA when it was out but it hasnt retruned has it?

Marvel is easier for me bc I know the characters and I know their history. Im not a newbie to the line, just havent read much at all this year outside of the X-men books
