^Little bit more than D9 then, in all honesty if this movie is half as good as D9 its going to be very good.

there wont be low expectations anymore since with D9 he was a new director. now hes movie will be realesed after everyone liked D9.

^Hhhmm not so sure, I believe many people think Peter Jackson had a heavy hand in D9, it was advertised as such anyway, with his name not plastered all over the advertising this time there may still be low-average expectations.

I'm excited for more news to start pouring in when production starts. I'm glad of this comeback of the Sci-Fi genre, always my favorite, and I'm glad we are getting more of them, especially from Neil.

That's one hell of an amazing cast lined up. Adding Sharlto Copely to any ensemble will guarantee an awesome time.

^Definately, between D9 and A-Team, Copley is very quickly becoming a favourite actor of mine.

Couple of news.

Matt Damon is confirmed for the cast and Sony Pictures is the distributor worldwide.

Syd Mead (Blade Runner, Tron, Aliens) will design the sets.
Blomkamp will have his sets designed by Syd Mead, famous for his work on films like Blade Runner. Mead's very hard to hire, but he responded because he so liked District 9.

When filming starts and release date.
The film will prep in April, and start production in July in Vancouver before moving to Mexico City in the fall. The film will be delivered in time for release during the 2012 holidays.

Well, Sony doesn't have any films scheduled for November & December 2012 yet. Maybe a December 7 or early November release is ideal.

... and it's a shame Universal Pictures' deal fell through. They could use a sleeper hit similar to District 9.

I greatly look forward to this, I love District 9 to death and am eager to see Blomkamp's next projects.

I might see this movie, and if I do then I hope that Jodie Foster doesn't go nude (if any nudity is involved).

Foster will then be joining Matt Damon and Sharlto Copley in Neill Blomkamp’s mystery-shrouded sci-project Elysium. Or will she? “Actually, I’m not on that movie! I don’t know how that got out there,” says the actress. “Well, I’m not not on it, but I’m not booked or involved in a deal yet. People want to jump the gun on Neill because he’s the new David Fincher or whatever. And I get why – I love him and District 9 was my favourite film of 2009. But we’re just not at that time in the process yet…”

Well, its safe to say that D9 was the best movie i've seen probably since the LOTR trilogy, yes, I found it that good, watched it again to and it simply is a superb film and will always remain so, so I cant wait to see what Neill does next.

Honestly, the production art for Elysium is so vague and sketchy I have no idea what's going on. Blomkamp and Sony have nothing to worry about.

Now, if it were the script... totally different story.
