This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]491471[/split]
Don't know who called him a talentless hack. Though I did say he is not the paragon of filming perfection some make him out to be.
Ridley Scott isn't going to let Alien 5 happen anytime soon. If I were you I wouldn't get my hopes up.I'll come back to this thread when it is actually about Alien 5 and not *****ing about Blomkamp while praising the godly Scott.![]()
Ridley was producing Alien 5. I doubt Ridley pulled the plug on Alien 5. I think Fox are just waiting to see how Alien Paradise Lost does before they greenlight Blomkamp's movie.
I think people should remember that Ridley's Prometheus project has been in development and further along than Blomkamp's Alien film. If Fox were going to make another Alien film with Ridley then it was always more likely to be before Blomkamp's film.
These, ladies and gentleman, are my exact thoughts. No need for me to write my own version of this post now.Scott only came on as "Producer" after Blomkamp's project was announced and was...gaining momentum, and then rather quickly and suspiciously announced that his film was now called ALIEN: Paradise Lost. Interesting, that. Scott is riding high right now on The Martian and thus has the "pull" to essentially "freeze" any project that seems to be encroaching on his. I'm betting it's an insecurity thing -- he muscled his way in on Blomkamp's film, and once he saw it was gaining more buzz and anticipation than his own...he asked FOX to put it on hold. At the very least, Scott of course demanded his movie being produced first...which you've seen him essentially admit already.
Hollywood operates on fear. You see firsthand evidence of that here.
a Scott movie has a finished script? haha
I wouldn't say they are idiots. Going with Ridley is probably the safer choice. But I would definitely rather see Alien 5.
