I believe they gave him an open invitation to come visit Hungary and view the construction of the Bridge first hand (I assume this trip would have been paid for) and gave in a 10,000 dollar HUF bill....which amounts to about fifty bucks.

They tried to screw Colbert over so badly with that bridge thing when they had the second round of voting (which Colbert also won), and they screwed him over when they chose a name that didn't even end up in the second round of voting.
