The Dark Knight New Joker Clip

So, does this mean that shot from the first trailer where Joker gets thrown back by the bazooka is gone?

Ho hum.

Well, considering the others, besides parts of Burton's original Batman, are pure garbage they are making a fair and accurate argument.

Except they aren't talking about the films as a whole, only the Batmobile's themselves.

Take the batmobile from the older movies, those things can not work when designed like that.

Actually, the same real life limitations plague the Tumber as well - except the Tumbler can turn.

Something that long can not take a turn for **** at anything more than 70mph. Physics says its impossible.

People who don't know about physics should stop talking about what physics says.

So its a valid argument to say the Tumbler kicks all theother batmobiles ass's.

"It's a valid argument -" how?

What's good is that Heath's Joker does seem so talkitive, aren't generally the Joker laughing after everything they do, I know Cesar Romero did and the Animated Series, and I haven't seen '89 in a while. But wouldn't the Joker laugh after the police car blows up?

Let me just say that I have always despised the batmobile in every form and incarnation up until BB. The tumbler is a logical design that agrees with what physics says is possible, and doesn't look goofy.

Some would disagree. Not myself, but still -

Fuss at me and disagree all you want but this is how I feel. I know some will say 'but its a comic and it doesn"t have to agree with physics' well I disagree.

Where are you guys getting that the Batmobiles' of the previous films and the comics invalidate the laws of physics?

Because this isn't a comic its a film and an entirely different medium, and while showing respect to the source material is important, you have to remember, it is easier to read about something and just take it as it says it is, but when you see something it takes alot more for a person to suspend disbelief.

Something tells me you have an avid hatred for a lot of fantasy films.

The batmobile has always failed at that in the films until now.

Failed at...what?

The only thing that Tumbler did that it shouldn't have was drove across rooftops. Tho, this is a discrepency in the physics of roof weight distribution and support and not the physics of what the tumbler can and should not do.

Oh, wow.

So, does this mean that shot from the first trailer where Joker gets thrown back by the bazooka is gone?

Ho hum.

I don't think so. There was at least one shot that wasn't shown: the one that hits the tumbler.

Don't you guys think something's missing in this clip? When Joker shoots the SWAT van with a handgun, it cuts to the interior of the SWAT van: the bullets seem to be hammering the van in rapid succession; can a handgun do that??? - Seemed more like a machine gun firing into the van.

Also, when the tumbler rolls under the garbage truck, smashing it into the ceiling, a piece of metal flies by and then vanishes. WTF? Oh, well, still an awesome clip!

I don't know much about guns but the one he was using was a handgun but it had the long clip into it. I dont know why but when there is a longer clip the gun is automatic, or something like that. Like the one he uses in the prolgue.

Once again I dont know much about guns except from tv, movies, and video games :oldrazz:

Nothing messing and yes certain handguns are capable of firing like that.

Ah, now I see. Cool.

Indeed, it was travelling the opposite direction and we know its driving in the same direction as the slaughter mobile when it gets hit.

And yes the handgun is capable of that, its the same one from the prologue as far as I can tell also.

I love how quiet The Joker is in that scene. He's so focused on killing, that he doesn't even utter a word. Reminds me of The Joker in his first appearance.

In my opinion, Heath's added so many layers to his version of the Joker. As the guy above me just said, he's silent in this footage. He does the laughing maniac in the TV spots, he has the relationship with Batman in the police headquarters and the street showdown.

He never ceases to amaze me with each piece of new footage.

Uh... maybe the problem really ISN'T everyone else. In your case, I'd look into that.

You do your share of bashing, and then some. You just don't like it when it's returned. And you REALLY don't like it when you're wrong.

Fact is, the previous Batmobiles COULD NOT do what we saw in this clip. That's what was pointed out, and it's a completely legitimate point. It means previous Batman films had to exist in a make-believe world. Because in the real world, sometimes Batman just has to take on a garbage truck.

Deal with it.

1: Uh...I didn't say that I hadn't bashed before.

2: Technically I'm not wrong in my statement that fans should stop whining and start appreciating, but in the end all I'm making is a statement...not a topic of debate. And my statement is all I was trying to say, that's all I've EVER been saying. Why people think I'm trying to pick a fight or "be right" is beyond me.

3: Gotham City IS a make-believe world ... sure it's a more over-the-top display in the previous films than Nolan's... but that doesn't change the fact that Nolan's films aren't taking place in a factual world. No 'Batman related
media' ever does, since Gotham doesn't exist...at all.

----

I'm looking forward to "The Dark Knight" with as much anticipation as everyone on this board...but what exactly is there to gain by ripping on Burton and Schumacher's films in the process?

Actually...what exactly is there to gain from ripping on them at all?

^NOTE:

I just listened to the Audio Commentary on "Gotham Knight" and Dennis O'Neal hits the nail EXACTLY on the head of what I believe during the 1st episode, "Have I Got A Story For You."

The fact that Batman is allowed to evolve through his own history and that there is no singular right way to portray the character...PERFECTLY said on his part.

Isn't it time for you to get back to your desk?:whatever:

Isn't it time for you to get back to your desk?:whatever:

Like I haven't heard that before.

Seriously I make a totally viable post and you mock me...did I miss the part where the discussion quality on here went downhill?

But y'know if you're gonna take a shot, I'd appreciate it WAY more if thought and creativity went into it. The internet allows you to post whenever you want. So you have all the time in the world to totally nail me...and THAT's what you pick.

Were you seriously just sitting there thinking "oh boy yeah, I'll make fun of his LOCATION. Yeah, that's totally PERFECT, that'll show him..." ?

Look, while I'm sure my decision to stop talking in this thread while make a bunch of you jump for joy in a hollow 'victory' if you can really call it that, I'll go ahead and do it because this is getting pointless...heck it's been pointless.

so whatever...Again, the clip to which this thread is suspect to is very impressive. I'll just leave it at that.

Thanks for that.
It's great to hear from O'Neil again. I had read his theories on the character of Batman from a few interviews through the years and it makes me wish he was back in the comics as editor of the Batbooks....

But that was a SWAT guy!!! SWAT = Special Weapons And Tactics

Yah... good point actually. That's pretty funny =) Put that under bloopers!

…

And the second one is clearly more effeminate! Check out the lips, he's got botox fever.

Okay, just so you know BOTOX is for wrinkles in the forehead, it works by a neurotoxin that paralizes the muscles, not for lips.

Bruce was pissed at the garbage collection at his new penthouse, so he sought revenge

:funny: Awesome. =)

It's horrible until the garbage trucks itself starts to push off the Tumbler. And yeah I watched that documentary on model work and it definatley shows in that scene. :o:csad:

Which documentary is this? Must see it...

Pretty rad clip…I just wish he was laughing. He really should be laughing.

I'm glad someone else said this besides me. My only complaint about the clip is - JOKER IS DOING WHAT HE LOVES BEST!!! He should be nearly TAP-DANCING with glee over getting to blow $#!t up. Why is he so ... mobster-ish instead? Why is he so damn sane?

Deal with it.

Here is a clue: No "batmobile" from any film could do what it did in the films. INCLUDING the tumbler. Contrary to what you may think, it does not take out garbage trucks, wedge itself under semis, transform itself into a motorcycle, or complete ramp-less jumps on rooftops OR anywhere else for that matter, in real life. ITS A MOVIE. The tumbler is not some engineering marvel, a car with superpowers. It's called FX. And therefore it's not "better" than the other cars based on what it can/can't do.

And before you think of it - don't even make a big deal about it going 100mph or making sharp turns. My 1990 civic can do those things, I'm not running around calling it the greatest batmobile ever based on THAT.

Please see above and note that you have no understanding of physics.

You should also be ashamed that someone with an art degree is able to tell you this.

DOES anybody have the party scene in 3GP????

please i really need it?

or just pm me the link to one please!

So badass!!!

The tumbler really shows off its strength in that clip!

My only problem with this clip is something that probably won't bother anybody else, but I thought I'd just throw it in.

The cheesy stock high pitched "robot" whirring you can hear in the batmobile when we see Batman's face- I just never understood how with all of that talent and money, we sometimes have these annoyingly stock sounds slip into huge blockbusters. If you watch the MTV Hellboy clip you can hear the exact same sound when Abe is adjusting the camera device.

This movie is still going to be incredible, don't get me wrong. I just find that sort of thing annoying.

Also, when the tumbler rolls under the garbage truck, smashing it into the ceiling, a piece of metal flies by and then vanishes. WTF?

I think I remember seeing a Hi-Def version of that moment in one of the trailers.
And when I paused it I believe it was the Garbage Truck's side mirror.

:word:

Damn it, I was gonna post this up when I recorded it.
