You might have a point if it weren't for the fact that overzealous fans of the previous films tend to take nitpicking to ridiculous levels in criticizing BB and (what they know of) TDK in order to defend or glorify the films they prefer. As someone just said, it swings both ways, and I'm tired of people making it look as if the older films are being martyred when there are plenty of people being just as unfair to these current films. Having said that, I do like both the older films and newer films, and wish people would just **** when it comes to trying to 'prove' that one is so much better than the other.

Well I didn't say anything about people NOT critisizing the Nolan films...my observation is that the previous films are critisized to a more aggressive degree simply because they aren't the films we're getting now, while Nolan's are.

Like when people call the other films "old" despite the fact that "BATMAN" only turns 20 NEXT year...

Ultimately my point isn't a matter of bashing anything, so the person who said "door swings both ways, chief" totally missed what I was trying to say.

And what I'm trying to say is that we as Batman fans should spend less time finding fault with anything Bat-related and more time being 'BATMAN' fans.

In the "New Adventures of Batman" Cartoon Documentary, Mark Hamill comments on the fact that "Any interpretation of Batman is better than no Batman at all."

I hold true to that, very much so.

Adam West, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale...the point is it's ALL 'Batman' in the end. ALL of it.

I just think it's smarter to look at the positive of the fact that Batman, more than any other character, can be allowed such a diverse collection of interpretations that have allowed the character to thrive for 70 years...rather than any sort of negative.

Yes, there are different versions of Batman.
Yes, one fan can prefer Adam West while another prefers Christian Bale.
Yes, this is all ultimately a matter of opinion.

I guess I just don't see why we can't appreciate all of it WITHOUT having to bash any of it.

"But CFE, 'Batman & Robin' is crap that should be bashed." ... If you feel that strongly...THEN DON'T F**KING WATCH IT, MAN! That film came out in '97...you'd think by now every fan would've made their call on it already, yet there for some reason seens to be one "B&R blows" comment or some crack at Schumacher made on here nearly every WEEK! And you know what that means? It means the very people that are hating on it are still watching it! If you really hated "B&R" you'd stop watching it and by extension stop commenting on it altogether...But even if your excuse is "I'm watching it for a laugh" or "I'm looking for even more absurd things to nitpick" ... you're still watching the very thing you hypocritically proclaim to loathe, Einstein!

If you read this and you say "I understand where you're coming from but I still prefer the Nolan Films" ... that's fine. Just don't turn around and say anything about the prievious films is horses**t. Those films are great in their own right. And while I don't condone it, it's justified to say to the Nolan-enthusiasts who bash on them...there WOULDN'T be a "Begins" or "TDK" without them. Though personally I don't think that's a fair claim, but whatever makes you see that the original series was ultimately worthwhile.

I'll admit I've bashed in the past, but when I realized I was spending more time nitpicking about s**t and less time being an actual fan well...that stopped.

But whatever. I've made these statements before numerous times...and I have a feeling it's just gonna fall on a bunch of deaf ears like it ALWAYS does.

EDIT: Looking over this I already know the barrage of retorts I'm gonna wake up to...so if someone can just kindly continue discussing the clip at hand please.
