Iron Man New Set Report from MTV 05/31/2007

I have a feeling this will be good as well as faithful.

Awesome clips!
I was pleasantly surprised that they showed off the mask the way they did. Looks they nailed that aspect competely.Very cool indeed.:hyper:

Was Downey Jr. intentionally somewhat uninterested in the interview? Or was it just an act to make the interviewer a little nervous? I'm thinking the former.

Side Note: Did anyone notice that Jon Favreau has lost weight?:ninja:

P.S: The interviewer looks very familar.Wasn't he on MTV Europe or something?

Wow! Too much questions from such guy as you, Retro :D You' re a Sherlock Holmes of this century, so what stops you from starting investigation? ;)

I also noticed changes in Fav's figure

It really looks so far like Favreau is going for a no-nonsense approach. Tim Story could learn a thing or two from him.

Is the behind-the-scenes stuff also airing on the MTV TV channel? Or is it just on the web?

Hell even the camera angles so far and that hilarious one liner by Downey was delivered perfectly!

"can I at least get a reaction from you?" "Panic...how's that?" LOL

Why? Fantastic Four is a different franchise that is NOT a no-nonsense franchise. It's all about the nonsense. Also Fox is running that show while Marvel is handling Iron Man themselves.

woah correct me if I'm wrong, but IMDB has the budget listed at 186 million dollars!!! As awesome as that is I really want this movie to succeed, I was hoping they'd keep it tightly to 150 million.

^ IMDB is wrong I can assure you. It is in absoloutely no way possible Iron Man's budget is 186 million. I'm 100% certain of that. The contract with Merill limits the budget to 180 million. However keep in mind Marvel does not have to pay itself a fee to make the movie so the effective budget of a 140-150 million dollar film for them would cost a studio like Fox or Sony (to use a Marvel character) quite a bit more. I think Sony paid Marvel 65 million upfront before Spidey 3 started filming. :) So a 150 million dollar flick from Marvel Studios would actually cost another studio maybe 200 million in some cases. That's a good thing. Quicker profits lead to sequels.

The interview was a bit odd...But I agree, the helmet really couldn't be more perfect. As for the clips, brief as they might have been, did look very good. The scene with Downey and Bibb was great.

Side Note: Did anyone notice that Jon Favreau has lost weight?:ninja:

Haha, that's exactly what I had said...

Side note: Jon looks like he's finally back in great shape! Glad to see he lost some weight. I was rather surprised... nearly looks like he did back in the days of Swingers!

And yeah, that kid conducting the interview was clueless.

yeah i don't think it was awkward... probably Robert Downie Jr was tired (lol I nearly wrote probably Tony was just tired) on set or something and plus the guy asking the questions was a bit of a ****... I mean it's cool he asked some of the standard superhero questions just to bring publicity but i dunno his attitude overall seemed weird

Downie Jr and Favreau were obviously ****ing around with him and the cameraman

I also liked listening to RDJ's and Fav's thoughts about their movie and btw, Stark's company looks amazing, even if it's shown inside and from not the best angle

Great but awkward interview. I blame the reporter. He clearly didn't know how to handle himself with the interview.

As for Robert Downey. That's a worn out actor at its best.

Jon is Jon. Promoting the only way he knows how.

I think I may have to do a Cartman and freeze myself until this comes out :D

Perfection perfection perfection, thats what this movie will be.
