So, with Wonder Woman and Flash both recieving major setbacks (not that they'd gotten anywhere in the first place), what do you think will be the next DC Universe character to get a feature film?

And remember, this isn't about who you WANT to have a film about, but who you tHINK will have a film.

Sadly, I really can't think of any. Not Super Hero characters anyway. Vertigo is another story. The truth is, DC only has 5 reliable characters that have been published continually for the past 65 odd years: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern. The 2nd tier characters ( Hawkman, J'onn, The Atom, Green Arrow, Aquaman ) have always had a hard time holding their own for long in their own titles, so It's highly doubtful that Warners would give a big budget movie to any of them. The Spin-off characters ( Robin, Nightwing,Catwoman, Supergirl, Batgirl ) would likely be better served bolstering a future movie based on Superman or Batman, although it's possible they could get their own movies. The Teen Titans and The Legion? Waaaay too complex and expensive to make in live action, at least for the forseeable future. Who does that leave? I'm a DC fanboy, and I'm having a hard time thinking of who would work. Or more realisticly, who Time Warner would be willing to spend serious money on. The smartest thing Warners could have done was to do WW and the Flash followed by Green Lantern...after a few Supes/Batman sequels, make a Justice League movie.

I mean, I'm pretty sure they're still going ahead with Wonder Woman and Flash, just that it'll take longer. Hell, they dumped Whedon because they got a new script. Granted, it'll have to be rewritten because it was set in modern times, but I imagine they could get started pretty soon.

At this point I honestly can't predict ANY DC hero that doesn't have :batty: or :super: on their chest making it to the big screen.

Although what I would LIKE to see is a decent GL movie - as in: NOT some comedic star vehicle.

It's hard to say, very hard to say. I mean, when was the last time a studio had doubts about a superhero movie? They usually go with the first thing they can get someone to write.

Intresting....

Watchmen and Shazam are the most likeliest. Watchmen will have alot of critical praise and Shazam can capture the kid audience (that BB and SR cant).

I think Flash and GL should be great investments also but Wonder Woman may die in production hell. I just can't see them making a successful female superhero film, marketing would be messy too.... I dont see little boys buying toys of golden lassos.

It sounds as though they are going to speed Wonder Woman up, while putting Flash on the shelf. If Wonder Woman is a flop I doubt we will ever see Flash or any of the others. If it is a success, then Flash will liklely be next. Captain Marvel next, followed by Green Lantern.

Well at least we still got "Deadman". :)

Since it'll take much longer to get a Wonder Woman or Flash film, the next best thing would be to get started on a Green Lantern movie, but that might take just as long.

I'd love to see a Green Arrow done right on screen. No voice synthesizer (I'm looking at you, "Smallville"), no brooding badass Batman attitude, but Green Arrow done as Green Arrow. A New Gods movie would be incredible. Kinda Star Wars esque. A Justice League flick in the future would be great, with Vandal Savage as the villain.

Right now Shazam! is DC's best move right now. I can't wait for that (Ryan Pinkston or Alex D. Linz as Billy Batson, please).

Hopefully, The Flash.

He's my second favorite DC superhero next to :batty:.

Wonder Woman, since they do have a script from those two unknown guys I think.

Next non-Bats/Supers movie?

Don't want one. Seriously, I'm getting a little sick of the influx of all these superhero movies and comic/graphic novel movies.

It could really be anything at this point. None of their films seem to be making any headway.

I'd like to see Flash or GL, personally. Flash could be a great action-comedy and GL could be an epic space adventure. And if one/both of those are made and succeed, it could open things up for characters like Green Arrow or Aquaman. Honestly, I really have no desire to see a WW movie. I just can't see it working for an adult film audience.

I predict it will be someone really random.

Yeah, like Ghost Rider. ( I mean from Marvel, not DC. )

Given the LR script review, I wouldn´t doubt IESB´s info that WW is getting on the fast track.

Someone told me a while ago that DC's #1 problem is how they are too afraid. Goyer and Whedon both probably had really good script ideas but the studio just can't forget the nightmares of Steel, Batman and Robin or Catwoman so they won't take any risks. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the superhero genre hadn't become so popular and now we expect every character to have their film. That's what Marvel is doing, they've made a serious business out of movies and feel they can live with bombs like Dare Devil. By all means Flash, WW and GL could be on the big screen if DC took a different approach.

I think so too. Now that Whedon is gone, I'm starting to think that Wonder Woman is going to get a Batman Begins or Superman Returns sytled 180 and get this project foward.

I think that Warner Bros and Joel Silver are going to hire these guys, keep to the basics of the script that apparently they really like and get convince them to set it in the modern day. It should be really easy on account that these guys are newcomers and this would be the break of their life.

I voted Shazam, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if we get news of WW coming into pre-production soon.

Im going to say The Flash, with current technology..such a movie can be done, and would be great to see.

Flash. Bright red costume, male, and the ability to kick ass.
