Nine Inch Nails or Metallica?

The title basically says it all, I just want to know who the better band is and why? Personally I think Nine Inch Nails is the better band because Trent Reznor is f**king amazing and NIN has revolutionized the industry with their industrial sound. Trent has put out some amazing pieces of work and a lot of it has been recognized and put into movies like 300 *the trailer music*.

So me and my friend are at each others throats right now debating on who is the better band. His only argument is that Metallica is the most well known band around and there for they must be good? Honestly I think thats pretty stupid because I've seen bands who suck terribly and they do amazing because everyone conforms and goes with what everyone says is cool.

Honestly has Metallica ever single handly saved a show from becoming the worst concert in history? *Woodstock '94* and might I add both bands played there and Nine Inch Nails tripled Metallica's crowd.

NIN's albums have also stayed on the billboard charts longer and have also been more successful in getting nominated for grammy's and other things. In '96 they won a grammy for best Heavy Metal band with their movie Broken.

So thats why I think Nine Inch Nails is the better band because of some of the small facts i've listed above, what has Metallica done thats so amazing? Except for their stupid campaigne against downloading music?

I think one is an Industrial band (if you want to call Trent Reznor a band) and one is a metal band. They both innovated in their genres and have some fantastic musicianship and songwriting talent to their credit. But they're two very different genres and I don't know if you can really compare them to be honest.

Thats what I tell my friends but they are a bunch of dumbassess and make fun of me for liking NIN. They are just stupid and don't know what the hell they are talking about, even though they are diffrent I still like NIN better.

Oh and although Ministry looks cool....they don't look as badass
