Hey guys, quick question; someone in another thread posted that they read somewhere that Nolan originally didn't want Batman to have a cape in this movie. This seems kind of hard to believe to me; has anyone heard anything like this before?

I read that Sam Hamm (B89) thought Batman's cape was ridiculous and troublesome. At one point of the script, Batman had problems ejecting himself from the Batwing due to the cape.

Nolan had problems with Scarecrow's mask. Don't know about Batman's cape.

Alright, all this sounds good, haha. This is what I figured anyway but I was still curious.

What was the problem with the 'crow's mask?

Apparently, Nolan thought it was too over the top for this version. I think I read he was going to put it just inside the hallucinations.

I thought those were lies, though.

No cape? Well, originally...Batman wasn't going to wear a mask, either. Something about the cowl being too....Batsy or something.

I don't remember anything about Nolan not wanting the cape, but I do remember there was one guy on the forums who kept making threads on why he thinks Batman shouldn't have a cape. That guy made me laugh. :woot:
