I've decided to make a story about SHIELD's quest to take down a very powerful mutant, wanting only to defend his country. SHIELD wants to control this mutant and use him for their cause, but the battles have been far and few to gain this character and achieve him for their team. But the battles have not been going well, and the rivalry between the character and SHIELD agent Scott Gomez thickens, and that is the premise of my story.
-----------Chapter 1--------(I want some feedback as to whether or not I should continue. I rather enjoy writing, and have written some military fan fiction but this is my first go at the 'super-hero' esque world; tell me what you think!
"Sierra 1 this is Sierra 2, more inbound. Requesting abort, over."
"Roger that, inbound."
The shield agent loosened his grip on his sniper rifle. That was not what he expected. The perfect plan, so simple so perfect, no way could that have failed. He chanced a glance over the caved-in wall he had taken refuge in: no sign of him sofar. S.H.I.E.L.D agent Scott Gomez, had found peace. The quiet he had wished for for so long, ironically came in a modern-day battlefield. Was the team dead? He didn't know. All he cared for was the chopper on its way for extraction. His thoughts swarmed him, but he had no time for trivialities such as ethics, and the whether this mission was good or wrong, he had a paycheck.
Interrupting his thoughts, Scott heard the unmistakable sound of the chopper; his que. It was now or never, he had to bolt it towards extraction. On paper, it was the worst situation; Run away from an unknown enemy. Sighing, he countdown in his head, ditched his sniper rifle, jumped out of his 'homely' nook and bolted it towards extraction, dodging bodies and weapons as he went. Heart beating he felt the steel of the chopper on his hands, he was safe, for now. "Where's the team?" the co-pilot asked nervously.
Scott climbed onto the chopper and looked into the battlefield, finally spotting the one that had done this, standing in the middle of a pile of S.H.I.E.L.D agents. They locked eyes, rage flowing between them as if they were connected. "I am the team," he muttered.
