NOOOOOOOOO!!!! or, Peter Moore resigns from Microsoft.

Going from working with developers like Bungie, Bioware, and Remedy to...Madden? I can't imagine a worse life demotion.

He claims he's doing it because his family (chiefly his oldest daughter) wants to move back to the San Francicso Bay area. I guess Washington State kind of sucks, but if my father was the head of a console division I'd live in the bowels of West Virginia if I had to.

Can you imagine if Peter Moore is somehow able to get the EA Sports games to be XBOX360-exclusive??

I mean I don't even think I can entertain the idea, but...entertain that idea for a sec.... ;)

I doubt it. Peter Moore left due to the shoddy job Microsoft is doing in handeling the 360 problems, and all the headaches caused with it. He jumped ship partially for fear of the worst.

Peter Moore was in talks with EA long before any of the warranty decisions were finalized. He left due to his family, primarily his oldest daughter wanting to move back to the bay area, and EA was offering a damn good deal.

what are these warranty decisions?

Microsoft was pulling a failure rate of about 33%, so they're now doing a super-warranty where they cover any console bought for three years. Every console ever sold.

There are reports that this isn't exactly the case. I've taken in about 3 X360's this week at Gamestop due to people being charged $50-100.00 to fix their X360 by Microsoft. Yes, we take defective systems and send them in to get refurbished ourselves.

This 'Super Warranty' doesn't seem to aply to everyone. Read the fine print.

It's called a smoke screen in corporate America. They don't blatently tell you the negative sides of a decision. Peter Moore stated had stated at one point he was 'disgusted' with the way things have been playing out with the X360 over the past year and a half.

Got a shred of evidence for that one? Quote and source?

It's stuff like this that make me hate Wii fans.

But the thing is that the Wii is actually more successful than the Xbox 360, it's making a better profit. The demand is higher. It's selling at a much faster rate. At the rate it's selling, expect the Wii to surpass the Xbox 360 in total sales sometime this year.

Dude, this isn't like Ken Kutaragi where he pretty much got sidestepped for the Playstation 3's disappointments or Gumpei Yokoi for the Virtual Boy's failure . Moore most likely left Microsoft for EA for the reasons he stated, because despite it's disappointments, the Xbox 360 has been somewhat successful.
