Now for the latest in rumor news folks.... expect to see a x-box 360 transform in a machine with legs, along with an ipod as well. Don't believe me? Check it out here.

"I almost forgot to mention one of the most stupid scenes in the script," he writes on the site. "For reasons that I won't get into, we see an iPod, Xbox 360, and plasma screens sprout legs and transform just a bit." It's unclear whether the Xbox 360 Transformer is an Autobot or Decepticon.

Meh, so what...
I don't see why this is somethign to get up in arms over?

It's a cameo of a few random TF's as various household objects. Doesn't mean they have to be known characters or do much other than cameo in a short little scene as a suggestion that TF's might be anywhere and everywhere, even in people's homes.

Yeah it's pretty ****ing stupid and extremely blatant advertising.

The whole movie is an advertisement. Get over it.
Cars. Toys. This movie is just a giant commercial. I'm just hoping we get some entertainment from it.

Hopefully they leaked the script to see the reaction they would get.

The answer, Micheal Bay, is an astounding "no" to the X-Box 360 Decepticon.

seriously, WHAT????

i really dont get the point in that.

mabe it has something to do with the Energon they are looking for. I mean, wasn't that what created them? mabe at one point it starts turning our technology into transformers. or you know, it may be a fake

It's Soundbyte. He change his alt-form to spy on people.

they did say in the script review that we see how they choose their alternate forms. I imagine why would be part of that answer as well

A movie based on a toy line being based on advertising? No way!!!

exactly. transformers has always been about little more than getting kids to spend money, wrapped in a pretty cool shell with memorable characters and a decent, if not cliche story.

Well duh. the classic cartoon was one big long toy commercial. But an Xbox and Ipod transforming not even all the way just sprouting legs...come on for christ sake.

I still don't understand why this would be a stupid idea. I mean so waht if it's product placement, almost EVERY movie to date has some form of product placement.

And again, this could be used as a great way to show the audience that TF's could be anywhere and everywhere...even in people's homes if they were so inclined.

I think it has something to do with the energon transforming technology into transformers.

There is truth in what you say... but it's somewhat of an insult to the guys (the Marvel comic writers) commissioned by Hasbro to create the backstory and characters. They did a very good job... and though they were a bit beholdened to the toy maker, they tried really hard to create a believable and compelling world. I think they did a great job.

I can now accept a few changes. Its not in the 80s anymore so having some of the spy robots transforming into house hold apliances like an Xbox360 or an ipod is okay with me. (as long as soundwave is still their master)

plus be honest- if your ipod or xbox got up and started walking around would that not creep you the hell out. Not to mention if it was a Decepticon. That would means odd's are it was going to try to kill you.

An ipod would be alright and fine, because it is pretty compact. An xbox 360 is alittle overboard.

THAT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO STUPID!!!!!....

i will spit on the screen if i saw that!!!

I actually think this is very interesting.

First of all, the whole idea makes perfect sense. I mean, hello, robots in DIGUISE, etc. What did you want, boombox-Soundwave from G1? That's not much of a disguise these days. People would get suspicious. "What's that, daddy?" "That's what mommies and daddies used to play music back in the day, son." "Gosh, it's so ugly!" "It sure is."

You know? To much unnecessary attention. It wouldn't make sense. Now, an X-Box, an iPod, a flatty, people expect to see those things in their living rooms.

Now, second, think about the thematic possibilities. Having the current symbols of technological status becoming "evil" is something that gives the movie one of those self-deprecating subtexts Hollywood is so fond of these days. Like the Clone-Factory-as-Hollywood metaphor in THE ISLAND (keeping the clones (i.e. the viewers) at a 15-year-old maturity level and entertaining them with violence (fighting game = action scenes), etc).

We don't even know if this "Ipod with legs" scene will be in the movie....

What about PS3 Decepticon????

If u say YES then i won't agree!!

XBOX 360 RULES BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's shaudy consumerism for sure, but guess what? That's exactly what the original TF were created for... the entire first season is a walking contradiction of bad scripts! I'm not offended. This fits with the classic idealism of the TF concept.
