Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

MaX is just a weird name. Its as weird sounding as Peacock.

Do you have a Peacock? No I have a MaX. Do you have MaX?
What a MaX? Whats on MaX?

Its literally a name of a person, can be a title of a mature film or can be misinterpreted as a Mask.

Just call it WB+ and call it a day.
I think most of the streaming services are named fine, but Peacock totally put me off before I even considered it.

Peacock is a stupid name for a streaming service, let's be real. :funny: I only have it to watch Premier league.

My worry with Max is that they're going to eventually push all of HBO content away in lieu of their crappy Discovery+ shows. That is why for me, kicking HBO out of the title was a big deal. HBO is the only reason I would ever have a max subscription

199.99 yearly are you ****ing kidding me. The original yearly was outrageous for 149.99.

HBO Max was $14.99/month as of last year for 4k/HDR. Then they raised it to $15.99 in January for 4k/HDR. Now they are raising it to $19.99 for that same tier.

That's a 33% price hike just in the past few months.

The HBO part is what suggested quality to me. The crappy Zaslav Discovery part is not of much interest to me. Changing the name just dilutes my impression of quality of the overall product.

Geez. I saw the video announcement. Its reallll....

Like why couldn't they do a Wizarding World: House of the Hupplepuff to test the waters, but they went straight to Philosopher's Stone? Like they are gonna recast everyone now?! Good God.

This is tricky. I understand wanting to drop the “HBO” name from the branding to not confuse new subscribers and lure parents away from Disney+ and Netflix as the only major streamer for kid content. I even understand why MAX makes sense given the large library of content and seeming inclusive to all demographics, but increasing the price of the ad-free 4k tier is ridiculous.

I just realized MaX would have been a fitting name if imaX has a streaming service.

Nah, Peacock is probably the worst name any streamer could come up with…especially if you’re trying to target a broad audience.
As opposed to just calling something Max with no reference to any of it's actual content?

Those original Potter films are so iconic and beloved that a reboot is almost unfathomable to me.

Funnily enough they still used the John Williams theme in that little teaser. My point proven lol.

I would like to thank Warner Discovery for coming up with a worse idea then the Ring of Power series, which couldn't even get 40% of their audience to finish their 8 episode first season.
