Film Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

General Film
And, let me take this opportunity to say that I believe Superman The Animated Series is one of the most UNDERRATED animated properties out there.

Superman: The Animated Series was OK, but I think it was a show where the parts were greater than the whole. The series finale was A+ though. That was the perfect ending.

While I totally enjoyed STAS and especially the Apokolips episodes/Brainiac Krypton origin, they definitely didnt put as much care into it as they did with BTAS. But still a great series and their way to get around the Kara Zor-El ban was genius.

Some of the reviews that I have seen for The Little Things indicate that the film has an ambiguous ending. That could mean a couple of things. Maybe we don't find out the killer is, or we do get an answer but it is somewhat open ended,
We shall know soon enough.

'Godzilla vs. Kong' Release Date Changes Again - Variety

So Godzilla vs Kong is moved up a week. Probably to accommodate the Snyder cut. An R rated 4 hour nightmare.

I really don't get it. It's going to be worse than BvS. I think we're underestimating how much. It will be the tripling down of all of Snyder's worst impulses that made BvS so awful. I wouldn't be surprised if it's straight up unwatchable. Remember everybody hated BvS? Well, for some reason we need to be reminded again in two months and it won't be pretty. It'll be like having PTSD of an old war while being in a new war.

Despite being a Canadian without access to HBO Max, I just wanted to pop in here to quote @Doctor Jones' beyond reproach assessment of what to expect from the Snyder Cut. :hehe:

And to shameless plug that the greatest TV space opera of all time, Babylon 5, is now on HBO Max newly remastered and encourage those interested to check out my little B5 thread. :D

It’s true. The Snydercut will be awesome.

There are 37.7M who are eligible for HBO Max such as current cable subscribers but only 17.2M who actually activated the app.

Lets see what happens as WB rolls out there slate on HBO MAX.
HBO MAX might turn it around, but there has been a lot of talk about waiting everyday since it launched. HBO MAX launched 8 months ago and still has 10m less users then Disney+ had after it's first quarter. We can discuss the reasonings, but HBO MAX has been a bust so far. That it has been so in the middle of a pandemic that has see other subscription service surge, isn't great.

I know WW84 didn’t appeal to everyone but wouldnt that be the movie to bring eyes on HBO Max? On paper that’s bigger than almost every 2021 WB release?
That's the thing. You can argue the Matrix, Suicide Squad and maybe even Dune. But yeah, WW would theoretically be top tier, and it isn't even on there anymore.

I don't want HBO Max to fail because it's producing shows I enjoy and don't want to end, but man it's sad seeing the numbers roll in every time. The amount of people that could have it for free but don't because they marketed and branded it poorly is just...it's rough. It's not great and I feel like they keep shooting themselves in the feet.

It definitely feels like HBO Max doesn't know how to promote their shows which is sad because their is some pretty great stuff on there like Veneno which I'm pretty sure most people don't know about because they haven't done a good job getting it out there to the general public and its been on there since November.

I fear the same thing is going to happen to It's a Sin too which is another great show they are getting in February, but I haven't seen anything for it either.

With their movies its a completely different story though because I've seen alot of advertisement for The Little Things and Judas and the Black Messiah, but I don't see them really expanding if all they are going to rely on is the big name movies, especially the ones that don't already have an established audience.

In hindsight, HBO Max was a terrible name for the service. I get why they went for it but it's backfired

They should rebrand it to 'Warner Max' once they roll out internationally
