Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

Warner Bros. Discovery Has Bigger Problems Than Its DC Search – The Hollywood Reporter
The film studio’s hunt for its own Kevin Feige may be complicated by key questions about what’s next for the heavily indebted company — and whether another major deal is on the horizon

But the declaration of the DC reset was premature. Zaslav is continuing to meet with prospective candidates to lead the effort, but surprising to no one, he has not found a Kevin Feige clone. A negotiation with producer Dan Lin became public (possibly due to a meeting that was held outdoors in plain sight because of WBD consultant Alan Horn’s COVID-19 concerns) but then apparently fell apart over complications involving Lin’s production/nonprofit company Rideback.

Meanwhile, DC Films president Walter Hamada called his lawyer after watching Batgirl get binned and listening to Zaslav talk about the bright future under superior but unnamed leadership. Film studio co-chairman Michael De Luca talked him into staying until Black Adam is released in October, but his exit is being negotiated.
But at that point, many industry observers believe that Comcast's Brian Roberts will make a long-awaited move, looking to combine NBCUniversal and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Comcast raises antitrust concerns with both NBC News and CNN under their control and Comcast has a deep relationship with WWE wrestling and it could get rid of (if not kill off in the long term) rival promotion AEW, for a couple of examples.

Who’s going to want to join in a long term organisational/coordination Feige-type role while the company has so much instability. All those seeds you plant won’t get a chance to be appreciated before the next big corporate event undermines it all.

Pretty soon it might just be Walmart and Disney at the rate these mergers are going. Also we need to stop saying the next kevin feige as there is only one with that particular vision. The person to lead dc should be their own person with their own vision of DC.

Uggh, another Disney/Fox merger will not be good.

Just combine everything with Disney, Amazon and Apple. Buy N Large.

It would be nice if only two streaming services exist lol

I miss when Hulu and Netflix were the only ones and then Disney didn't like its licensing deal with Netflix and said fine I'll do it myself.
Remember when Yahoo had their own streaming service for five minutes? That pre-dated pretty much all the streamers besides Netflix and Hulu and the only reason why anyone would remember it at all is because it had exclusive streaming rights to the last season of Community.

Which was a dumb move for several reasons.

I can't blame them for trying. Yahoo was desperately trying to stay relevant and streaming was uncharted waters in those days.
I was trying to remember the name and it was something bland and generic.

I swear Zaslav and Chapek are battling it out on who's the worst person to run a streaming service cause they're now saying that the new price is still not enough for the content on Disney+.

When they know people will pay regardless they dont care. Let the strike against these services begin!

It sucks cause Max has Harley Quinn, Doom Patrol, and classic DC content while Disney+ has Marvel. I like me some She-Hulk, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil.

Im just getting to the point where Ill just binge the shows instead of paying for these services year round cause....these prices are ridiculous.

The prices become ridiculous when you have multiple streaming services at the same time. But if you look at Disney+ by itself, I would agree that $10 or $11 a month is pretty cheap for all the Disney content housed in one spot….especially if you don’t own the movies on physical media.

And, as far as I can tell, they don’t rotate or remove content like a lot of other streaming services, like HBO max or Hulu. Once something gets there, it pretty much stays there.

Yeah. On occasion I’ve seen one of the Fantastic Four movies rotate out and then come back in but for the most part, they stay on the service. Honestly, even if they’re removed I probably wouldn’t notice. Actually, Avatar did get removed but it was probably for the re-release and I’m sure it will come back pretty soon.
