This movie looks pretty damn good. I hope it does him justice.

As a massive Beatle fan , i've been waiting for it to be released in the U.S. since it was released in the UK way back in december I think.

Comes out October 8th here in US. Haven't read any reviews for it.

interesting. I wonder if it'll just be his early life?

haha isn't crazy that the actor there is Kick Ass? Doesn't look or sound anything like him. I'll definitely be seeing the movie looks pretty good.

Yeah it took me a minute to make the connection. I knew he looked familiar

Well it's been released here in Australia for about a month or so now & I grabbed a copy from my local JB HIFI Store. I'm not really a fan of the Beatles or John Lennon...,at least not up to the point when I saw this movie. However, I really fell in love with this movie, as a movie just on it's own. The kid from kick-Ass, makes you forget he was ever in that movie. Everything he does is just so different from kick-Ass & just so well acted & executed that you really feel something for John Lennon even though you know, his faults to come later in his life. I've looked up a lot of pics of Lennon & his Quarrymen band & The actors they got for this movie are freakishly alike in a way that makes you sometimes slip into the world so much, that you begin to wonder if your watching a movie or watching archival footage. My mother being 60, was in her Teens when The Beatles were in their prime & from her obsessed perspective of her love for Lennon, she says this movie reminded her why she loved Lennon & that time in her life. For some this movie is boring because they consider it to be a time in Lennon's life that not many ppl care about, but as I said, as a lover or Lennon or not, you'll enjoy this movie no matter what because it's just a well acted, well scripted, well directed piece of cinema. I give it a 8 out of 10.

This movie came out a while ago in the UK. Before Kick Ass. Its just been released on DVD.

Its about Lennon and his family life before they went to Germany. Mostly its about his realtionship with his aunt and mother. Does show his first meeting with Paul and George though.

Backbeat is a beatle biopic I recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it. Ironically enough that film sort of picks up where Nowhere Boy ends and focuses on John Lennon's friendship with Stu Sutcliffe and their rise in Hamburg.
