Obama doesn't wear US flag pin. Conservatives pissed.

Yeah, both Stewart and Colbert were talking about this last night. The guy basically said he would rather show his support for our troops through his actions and words rather than by simply wearing a pin on his lapel. The neo-con media (mostly Fox News) jumped all over it. They even showed people talking about how this meant that he wasn't committed enough to be Commander In Chief and likening it to having an extra-marital affair. They were really reaching and it was pretty ridiculous.

man, i can't wait until this election is over. this **** is so childish.

But seriously, on the flip side, just wear the ****ing pin, seriously. Big deal.

That was hilarious. Trying to compare the pin to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Bunch of morons.

I loved the lady at the end of the segment who said something to the effect of "Anyone who isn't wearing a U.S. flag pin on their lapel can't be taken seriously." or something like that and then The Daily Show guys kindly circled her lapel for her, which did not sport a U.S. flag pin. :D

It's been on the front page of the Chicago SunTimes a couple times over the past week. Some were saying the same thing, that he should wear it because all the other countries will be looking at us, and that it's a symbol of the nation. I have always been of the mind that actions speak louder than words, but those that talk the loudest usually can never back up their actions.

HAHAHA, is anybody surprised though? I am actually more surprised that people haven't been called out on this sooner.

What a stupid non-issue to be arguing about.

Who cares if he wears a pin? But along the lines of what Darthphere was saying, just wear the ****ing pin. It is as much of a publicity stunt on Obama's part to not wear the pin as it is those rallying it against him. After all, if he doesn't wear it, look at all the free media he is recieving coupled with the talking point "My actions and words support the troops." So yeah, he is just as bad.

But on a side note...does this remind anyone else of the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer refused to wear the AIDS ribbon?

At this point he's basically damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, is what you're saying.

Who cares!!!

I hate politics...the politician's stupidity makes me so mad!

He probably forgot to put it on one day and made something up to cover the fact that he didn't have it on. Now, he's gotta keep not wearing it to cover his cover-up.

No, he isn't damned at all. The people who are geniunely upset over this are crazed, pin=love for America, conservatives who wouldn't vote for him anyway cause they see him as a liberal pinko commie.

So instead, he is doing this to rally his base and get liberals to vote for him out of spite for all the Rush Limbaugh's and Ann Coulters who will attack him for this. John Edwards hit his highest point in the polls when Coulter attacked him. Obama is trying to get a similar response.

I really don't see the big deal. If he wants to be anti-American that's his choice.

But when did the pin become about the troops? I thought it was for remembering 9/11.

When people started coming up with dumb ass slogans like "these colors don't run" and bull**** like that, it started being more about bravado than it did about being proud of your country.

I have a new idea...let's stick it to the system, and vote in a third party candidate

I know it will never happen, but I will never vote Rep and Dem again since I am against this stupid two party system we have...I am standing up for my beliefs!!!

While neo-cons use it to rally their cause, Obama is doing the same thing in reverse, so I really don't see why so many people are holding him up on this high horse.

He should wear a pin that says "Always bet on black!"

That would be badass.
