Obama, Edwards, and Clinton talk about their faith.

carpetbagger... carpetmuncher

it's an easy mistake ;)

where's the athiest candidate???

i was visiting my old hometown last week and i saw a sign at a church that's a renovated movie theater and it said "god doesn't believe in athiests, therefore atheists don't exist." way to preach tolerance for other beliefs.

Certainly no more disrespectful has plenty of atheists are toward what anyone else believes.

like who? i'm an atheist and i don't disrespect other people's beliefs. you're assuming that all atheists are like the demonized stereotype who lashes out at anything to do with religion. people can believe what they want to believe, and if they want to be respected they better show repsect for other beliefs.

The Dems are so funny! They kept talking about leaving your faith out of your job-----separation of church and state in the 2004 election.

Now all of a sudden "faith" is so important to them. LOL And you can still kill those babies in the womb. Just don't do too many....:oldrazz:

They are a trip.

Though I usually go Republican, since it's basically fact that a democrat will win the election, I would want Obama as president, with Edwards as vice president. Anything but Hillary, really.

The GOP is so screwed up over this whole Iraq thing. I think the only thing that will at least give us progress is the democrats.

A little known fact is that America is very religious,so i would expect to hear comments like this.

Little known? America is one of the biggest bible thumping nations in the world. That’s one of the reasons I get so pissed off with it. Yet again you make yourself look like an idiot.

And carpetbagger is a hatespeech term used to insult lesbians.

I think you’re thinking about carpet muncher.

I'm pretty much on the same page as you. I vote republican....but I fully expect a democrat to be elected in '08 at this point. That is, unless the dems pull another Kerry campaign and totally screw it up. I would much rather have Obama (who I like alright) than Hillary (who just may turn out to be the anticrist.)

so you're saying you need to replace logic with extremist views or don't even bother adopting religion into your life?

As if atheists are tolerant of religious people....
I love how you said "believe what they want to believe." You totally excluded atheists from that equation. Should be along the lines of "believe or not believe what they do or don't want to believe. Or not."

Personally, while I think John Edwards would be a fine president, I feel he's a little too Adlai Stevenson to be a very memorable or effective one.

Additionally, I wanted to support Hillary Clinton, I so really did. But she's so fake... from trying to repeal the Iraq war bill to faking that ridiculous accent that one time... She's such a joke now.

Barack would be the best president of the three, and I'd probably vote for him (unless the Republican candidate ends up being Mike Huckabee), but there's just so many haters out there, it's mind boggling.

who the **** are you basing that off? do you actually know any atheists? have spoken with them about it? i respect most people's religious beliefs, even though i don't agree with them. i don't believe in the theory of a god. how many different gods have there been throughout history? everyone of their followers swore they were real, yet most people only believe in one god now. seems that most people are atheists to a degree. i can't get onboard with anything i don't find logical, therefore i'm not a person of faith. it's that simple, and i don't take it any further. i don't scoff at people who are religious, because i've been surrounded by them my whole life and i respect them a great deal.

Um... Sorry? Crap, I was being facetious, bro.
I'm cool with atheists, it just seems a little wierd when someone brings their atheism up unprovoked. And I guess Buddhism is a form of atheism... But nobody would want a President who's all peaceful and shut all the time.

and do you really believe Bush is religious?
No. He just uses it to rally the evangellicals to vote for him. I'm not a neo-con dolt you ass :o

Yeah she ain't a real home grown southerner like "Dubya"

Bush didn't grow up in Texas. He moved there in 1978 to head an oil business.

Hillary Clinton moved to Arkansas in 1974.

But Bush is accepted as a homegrown cowboy and Hilary Clinton is an evil carpetbagger. :whatever:
At least Bush stayed in Texas and has lived there for quite sometime before he became governor. Clinton never even lived in New York and just took a Senate seat that should have gone to a New Yorker. But this isn't about Bush, who I don't care for in the first place. This is about Clinton, the prime example of carpetbagging still in American politics

No, that's rugmuncher. And Clinton is a carpetbagger. She never even lived in New York until she ran for the Senate. She just took the seat of the basis that she's a Democrat running for a Democratic state and was the First Lady and a Clinton. The Senate seat for New York, should go to a New Yorker.

And to make it worse, she didn't even use it to benefit New York State. She used it to benefit herself to build up political experience so she could run for President, which she is doing right now and she's been doing it since the begining. So f**k her.

And I totally get to say this on account that I am a New Yorker.

I thought carpetbagger wasn't necessarily a negative appelation, and was typically used to describe fresh-faced upstarts trapped in a world they never made. I guess that's why I'm not a politician...

isn't she originally from New York?

I figure that pro-lifers are screwed this time around, McCain’s the only candidate that’s even viable this time around that’s “pro-life”, and his chances of success are slim.
