ASM #37 cost me $45 in okay condition.

I never got it but ASM #9 was in a store in decent condition for $350. Same for Annual #1.

Haha! But it would be pretty right if you had them again though. Despite if they cost $500-$1000 an issue. I get it.

How long ago did you sell them?

And man, $1 to $10?! Jesus. How was the condition on these?

I picked up some of those issues up around '69, so those issues were only about 5 years old or so, and they were all in near mint condition back then...

it was about three years ago when I unloaded those issues...

Ah so just recent. Lets not talk about this ever again....:yay:

oh, I've gotten over it a long time ago, and I don't mind it as much anymore... so no worries... I tend to reminisce a bit too much as of late when it comes to comics... *shrugs* :woot:

I don't own any comics. Everything I own is either in trade paperbacks or some type of hardcover collection. I know, that's pretty weird. I'm not interested in collecting the comics themselves really, I prefer just having them in collected series.

That's understandable. It's all just preference. There's a sacred quality to single issues that's all.

I think according to the official comics price guide, #252 is worth about $48, right?

I don't see the point in buying twice...
But, that's just me...
An essential part of comic book culture is collecting, and while you want to take good care of these rare, precious books, you don't want to ruin them either.

I would only buy a comic book "twice" if it was old or rare. The original copy for collecting purposes, then a cheap re-print so I can actually enjoy the story itself.

A couple months ago I got a minor tape pull on ASM #121. That day still haunts me lol.

Getting it out if the bag and board? Agh I hate that. I was in line to meet Erik Larsen once, and heard these hardcore collectors saying they never tape up their bag and boards anymore due to that.

At NYCC 2011, both John Romita Sr. and Jr. were there signing autographs. I couldn't get one because I didn't have $10 in cash. :(

Yep. I was an idiot and had 3 pieces of tape on the bag, and all 3 got on the cover I almost had heart attack. Luckily the damage wasn't that bad.

I still tape them but I now take off the tape before pulling out any of my key issues.

Comics should be READ! NOT entombed!

I agree.

When the day comes that I can finally get my hands on an AF #15... I AM GOING TO READ IT!!!!

I am going to smell the pages... I am going to throw myself into this book.

Then I will bag & board it and put it somewhere safe.

:yay:
