Thanks for all the answers and votes. It's good to see most people know the truth.

1. Many flying effects (wire work) still look good after 34 (?) years.

2. the Crystal tech still doesn't look dated (watch the first Alien movie for dated tech, it has Atari style computers)

3. The Suit still looks good (better than George Reeves or Dean cains suit.) IMO.

True but I wouldn't say they're perfect throughout the entire film(s). One area you begin to notice is whenever Superman transitions from vertical to horizontal posture slowly. Like when he and Lois first take off in STM. Chris's legs dangle a bit for a brief moment.

Not complaining, just pointing out a flaw. I still love the movie.

Oh, and I voted yes.

Have to agree that with the exception you point out, the flying in all the Chris Reeve Superman movies, still holds up very well today.

It still looks iconic. The image of Reeves as Supes in the sky.

While that's true, you can still spot some flaws in today's modern CGI effects.

Same here.

I think the dividing line is whether you notice it because you're really scrutinizing it or whether you notice it via simple casual watching. I don't think the former is really all that much of a problem while the latter is.

Oh, noticeable CGI can jump in your face by merely watching.

I agree. I meant some stuff on here people only start complaining about when they go frame by frame(or practically) and to me that's not really valid since it isn't how you watch movies in the first place.

Well, you know. The Reeve Superman movies were made in a completely different time. Back then the movie must've been sensational with the 'special effects' of a man flying. If you look back now all the CGI is just horribly done. I think you should just watch the Donner movies and enjoy then, considering the time they were made in. But I think Donner did good.

Even in 'Lois and Clark', in the 90s, CGI wasn't developed as far as it is now. And maybe it doesn't help that it's a series (but if you compare it with say 'Smallville', of course you see the difference). But I still managed to enjoy it.
