Right this is it guys and gals vote away, I put the so far in bracketts as I know some people are counting Big Hero 6 but I dont consider animated movies with live action ones, and also it doesnt come out until next year here in the UK. So vote for the best CBM of 2014 on this poll. This has been a great year for CBM's if you ask me, I havent disliked any of them really, and 3 of them are now in my all time top 12, so here is my ranking, you can see the scores I gave them in my sig:

1)X-Men: DOFP
2)Guardians Of The Galaxy
3)Captain America: The Winter Soldier
5)The Amazing Spiderman 2
4)Transformers: Age Of Extinction
5)Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
6)300: Rise Of An Empire

Not seen TMNT yet, but I am pretty certain, even though I think I will enjoy it, it wont make my top 3 for the year, but vote away people.

Suger, forgot GOTG, cant believe it! Will be added on shortly, sorry people.

It was Captain America: The Winter Soldier for me, but both X-Men: Days of Future Past and Guardians of the Galaxy are excellent films. Transformers: Age of Extinction was more of the same for that series, which is to say mediocre at best. I thought both The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were garbage. Still need to see Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and 300: Rise of an Empire, but I doubt my ranking will change. I'd go:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
X-Men Days of Future Past
Transformers: Age of Extinction
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I'll wait until I see TF4, TMNT and Sin City.

But as of right now.

The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Days of Future Past
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
300: Rise of an Empire

Should have made it best 2014 Summer Movie instead and just put Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. That belongs up there more than TMNT, 300, Sin City, Transformers and even Spider-Man especially in terms of quality.

I still say Days of Future Past.

1.Cap2(which is still my #1 for the year overall)
2.GotG
3.DoFP
4.TASM2

The rest I haven't seen and probably will never see as I simply don't care about them.

My list as well. Cap 2 and GoTG are interchangeable some days, but for the most part Id rather watch cap 2 again. I don't even remotely care about sin city.

As much as I loved Guardians of the Galaxy, my vote goes to The Winter Soldier.

I watched it again last night and it's just SO damn amazing. Probably my favourite MCU movie.

1) Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2) X-Men: Days of Future Past
3) Guardians of the Galaxy

4) The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Didn't see the others.

Winter Soldier takes it quite easily for me.

1) Cap #2. The best of all Marvel movies.
2) Guardians. A close third after Cap #1.
3) X-Men DOFP. The best of that franchise MAYBE except Mangold's The Wolverine.

Didn't see TMNT. The rest are not worth ranking.

1. X-Men: Days of Future Past
2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
3. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
4. Guardians of the Galaxy

X-Men and TWS are pretty interchangeable for the top spot, both fantastic films. I liked pretty much everything in ASM2 except anything involving Electro, who was just horrible. I thought Guardians was average.

Between GOTG & X-Men Days of Future Past for me

Guardians is the best MCU movie and probably THE most entertaining and heartwarming superhero movie,

X-Men Days of Future Past excels at drama, acting, story and had THE highest stakes and threat of any CBM

X-Men: Days of Future Past hands down!

The most intense, most epic and most emotional CBM of 2014!

Also, the acting is really good compare to the other films.

This is a very tough choice for me between Cap 2 and Guardians: the latter I just saw again for the 5th time but I think I'll hold off on voting in the poll until I watch Cap 2 again when it comes out on blu ray on the 9th.

Well for me it wasn't close at all. I loved Cap2 and that's the only movie this year that I can say that about with no doubt(DotPotA comes close though but that's not a cbm). I liked GotG well enough like I enjoy the Thor movies but I still can't get to love them yet. Still, solid for #2 cbm of the year and probably my #4 so far this year overall. And DoFp, well it's the best one Fox has ever made yet still being drug down by being tied to crappy continuity of the past and having to have that show in their new film still means I only liked this movie and it comes in at #3 for me. And since I'm one of those who liked TASM1 better than ANY of the previous Spider-man films(basically about as good as DoFP was this year), means TASM2 was an unexpected disappointment. Didn't like it much at all so it's solidly in 4th place.

I think guardians, even though it's my 3rd favorite Marvel film, can be viewed as their crowning achievement in a lot of ways. Its far from a perfect movie, but given the innate ridiculousness of the concept and the characters it's tough to argue that no other studio could have pulled off such a movie with as much success as them.
That being said, I agree with your assessment on DOFP. I loved the movie, but my enjoyment was tampered a bit given that the previous films have been so lackluster. I'm glad they set the record straight with this new one, I think it was a good choice to have most of the character's be from the First Class side of things as that movie is about as good as they've ever made it in the past.
And I'm one of the few who didn't hate ASM 2. It was disappointed, but I still enjoy watching it and there are certain things they got right in that movie that I can't hold against them.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier gets my vote. X-Men: Days of Future Past and Guardians of Galaxy compete for the second spot though, love both! It's too close to call second place.

300: Rise of an Empire is a movie i will never watch again, ASM2 was okay, i still havent finished watching Transformers and i dont really care for Sin City.

I am surprised Cap seems to be winning already, I loved it but I loved GOTG and DOFP more, Cap loses a little steam and gets a bit ridiculous by the 3rd act and thats why it doesnt quite match up to the other 2 for me.

Is it possible Cap is getting a boost because its on home video now and people have watched it more recently I wonder?

It comes out next Tuesday actually.

And one could say wouldn't Spider-Man get a boost because it's been on DVD for few weeks or that Guardians is still in theaters?

^In the Uk its been out 2 weeks, but really I was just playing Devils Advocate. And yeah Spidey 2 just simply isnt as good as TWS by a long way so there is that.

I was in a rush and i hit GotG even though I liked Cap 2 more. Oops
