Looks more like RE5's "Lost in Nightmares" which is awesome. It is the over the shoulder camera and controls of RE4, but with the classic survival horror gameplay of RE1-RE3 and CV. I'm hoping for something akin to a better controlled REmake, arguably the best RE game ever (though I enjoy RE4 slightly more). In short, this will be the reason I most likely get a 3DS in the next year.

Indeed, like REmake and forward, all cutscenes in RE games are done with in-game graphics.

Here is some actual gameplay.

You assume wrong.

really!? the 3d preview i saw months ago looked nowhere near this good - if they really are ingame then i may buy

that looks almost on par with the gamecube..... i would love a wind waker 3d (one of the only zeldas i have never owned/completed)

I was playing some DOA at Best Buy the other day, and it looked pretty damn good.

Resident Evil 3D is great...it has 0 story, its just so...so damn fun.

Which Resident Evil is it that you can't start a new game on? I'd expect the sales to be horrible on that.

Well mercenaries is nothing but the mercenaries minigame broadened for a whole title. I have little interest in it, because I never really loved the minigame before and a whole game dedicated to it on handheld seems unappealing to me.

Pretty much :o

i have to say this, but i truly hate the control stick on the 3DS, it sucks...........

it even sucks that it's the same stick on the WiiU controller

I haven't had a problem with it yet. But then again, I have very small hands.

Anybody else download Netflix for 3DS yet? It's a little slow when it comes to loading, but after that it runs pretty smooth.

early adopters will be given 10 free nes games and 10 free gba games

id be a bit pissed if i used money to buy it but hey you know the risks of buying early... hopefully the free game offer extends to europe

Here's the IGN article

http://ds.ign.com/articles/118/1184670p1.html
Nintendo announced a price cut of the 3DS from $249.99 to $169.99 in the U.S. effective August 12, 2011.

Japan will see a price cut from 25,000 yet to 15,000 yen on August 11. Australians will see a cut from AU$349.95 down to AU$250 on August 12. Pricing for Europe has not been announced.

"For anyone who was on the fence about buying a Nintendo 3DS, this is a huge motivation to buy now," said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "We are giving shoppers every incentive to pick up a Nintendo 3DS, from an amazing new price to a rapid-fire succession of great games."

If you purchased a 3DS anytime before the price cut date, you will receive 10 free Virtual Console NES and 10 free Gameboy Advance games. Users must connect to the Nintendo eShop at least once before the price cut date. They will then be automatically registered in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program.

The list of NES games include:
Super Mario Bros.
Donkey Kong Jr.
Balloon Fight
Ice Climber
The Legend of Zelda
+5 more
These titles are slated to become paid downloadable games, but Ambassadors get them early for free. "Once the paid versions of the games are posted to the Nintendo eShop later in the year, the updated versions will be available to Ambassadors for download at no cost."

The list of GBA games include:
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Metroid Fusion
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
+5 more
Nintendo says the GBA games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and that it "currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future."

some really good games in there tbh, nintendo didnt have to do the free game thing, so kudos to them there

The GBA titles are hotness (Metroid Fusion!) but the NES games are blah. Thanks for the free 20 games, though.

Woah. I don't think I have ever seen a price drop so fast. I knew one would come, but more around the holidays. It will be interesting to see how much this affects sales.

This is equal parts "F-you Sony" and "There are no games on our console and no one is buying it".

I'm still going to wait for a redesign, if I even pick one up then. The only game announced that I am interested in is Luigi's Mansion 2. Hopefully this will increase sales and then that will increase the number of games being produced.

I may go ahead and pick up one of these just to mess around with on commutes. I got hooked on DOA in Best Buy the other day.

I guarantee Kid Icarus and Metroid are gonna be two of the NES titles. If I had to guess, I'd add Kirby's Adventure to the list.

Dude, Yoshi's Island is AMAZING. Mario Kart is cool, but I still play Mario Kart DS, which is much better cause of the online play. Also, Wario Ware is fun.

As for the NES titles, Super Mario Bros is always fun, Donkey Kong Jr is fun, and The Legend of Zelda is a great title too. I was hoping to see Mega Man 2 in there, but we'll see what the other 5 are. Metroid would be cool to see.

Overall, it seems to be some pretty solid games for free. I guess Nintendo is getting a bit desperate, which is good, cause I really haven't picked mine up in a while. I need to look into picking up Zelda, though.
