Official Spider-Man 3 Soundtrack/Music Thread!

Wow, Kirsten Dunst is no singer, and that song is no good

Well, is that the first song she sings or second song? She's okay... not really that good, but- okay...

She sings another?! All I heard her doing is whimpering and repeating the lyrics, she seemed nothing more than a glorified back up singer

That's why I think it's the first song... the first song, she's replaced by her understudy- lol- so, it would go along with that joke.

The next time she sings, I believe, is a solo act, probably in the Jazz Club.

So I think this is the Manhattan Memories song, and if so, it makes sense-

It's definetly not something that would be performed in a Jazz Club.

Than she purposefully isn't that good of a singer, lol.

Always wondered what route they would go and- she's not that good of a singer then, purposefully.

Yes, the soundtrack....is.....okay.

VERY mellow overall, but with a few fast songs- it's alright.

I particulary like 'Portrait of a summer thief', 'Red River', 'The Supreme Being...'

I shall be picking this up. But im more excited for the score.

It'a great to have a spidey soundtrack where more of the guitarists actually know how to play their whole instument and dont just play power chords and short solos.

I just listened to 'Move Away' by The Killers and it's pretty awesome. Way better than 'Signal Fire'. I'm gonna listen to the rest now.

Thats the general misconception of Indie music. It is thought of as a genre with more integrity than your average mainstream music, maybe because rarely any of the vocalists can actually sing so your forced to listen to the lyrics, it's hard to define where people get this notion from. How can you say though that the other soundtracks don't pay tribute to Spiderman, I can't say i'm a fan of the music from the other soundtracks either but they all associate to the themes/ideas/characters of the Spiderman movies.

Well, I do believe that the integrity comes through the lyrics and song writing. While the performance should always be key, I believe that it is the subtle but immensely effective display of depth and meaning in most indie music that makes it really all the more worthwhile for me. I'm not doubting that the bands in the other soundtracks don't pay proper tribute to spidey, but I just think that this soundtrack has great potential to give great and better tribute to the emotion and depth of the movies.

Well, I got to pop the soundtrack open at work today. I was a big fan of the first two albums, and had already heard and loved the Snow Patrol and Yeah Yeah Yeah's tracks off of number 3, so I was excited.

Between Signal Fire and Sealings, the new Killers song was pretty darn good as well. I usually can't stand them, so I was surprised to like it. The Wolfmother song wasn't bad, some good riffs but the lead singers voice gets a bit grating after a while. Ah well, no biggie. Lovin' it so far. The Watchman song...not bad, not bad.

However, as soon as it gets to the Black Mountain track, the album totally switches gears, and IMO, loses all of it's momentum. I found pretty much everything from this point on on the album to be dull and forgettable. I was hoping for something a bit more interesting from the Flaming Lips considering all the hype I've heard about them, but I wasn't too in to the song. Even the new offering from Jet who gave me one of my favorite tracks from the SM2 album didn't interest me at all. The twist isn't a bad song by any means, and I know how it comes into play in the movie, but after the album started to drag, I was hoping for a song to really kick start things, and this wasn't it. Halfway through the last track, I turned the CD off and shoved it into the play cupboard. Color me really disappointed. :csad:

^^^ Personally, I think this is the best of the 3 Spidey soundtracks *shrug*

Jet is on Carson TONIGHT. Anyone else think that they will be promoting their SM3 song? Or just coincidence?

In my wonderfully humble little opinion, I think the new soundtrack is brilliant. It's the first one out of the 3 movies that has an actually GOOD soundtrack.

Okay, so the first one wasn't bad but it was more like a compilation of pop and rock songs that had nothing to do with Spider-Man. Hero was good though.

The Spider-Man 2 soundtrack was waaaaaaaay too emo...I understand that Spidey is an emo kind of guy, but, come on, there's different ways of expressing emotion than whining about it in musical form. However, Vindicated was quite an enjoyable song, even though I'm not a fan of Dashboard Confessional.

The Spider-Man 3 soundtrack is INCREDIBLY good. I may be biased because I like that whole indie rock kind of thing, but I really did enjoy it a lot more than I was expecting. I mean...with a song entitled "The Supreme Being Teaches Spider-Man how to be in Love" by a band like the Flaming Lips? That's brilliant! The song is brilliant! This soundtrack is brilliant out the a!

That's right...out...the....a!!

I'm pretty surprised with all the hate towards the soundtrack  , in my opinion, this soundtrack is definitely leaps and bounds over the first 2 soundtracks. It also feels like a soundtrack that's made not just for the sake of selling a soundtrack, but it actually seems that these indie bands put time into making music that compliments and pays tribute to spiderman. In fact, I think that it has the potential to be on par if not surpass Garden State's soundtrack, which also had absolutely brilliant indie music in it too. But hey, indie music doesn't exactly appeal to everyone and that's cool =D.

Amen to you, sir! I salute you!

Itunes is gonna have The Flaming Lips Spider-Man theme so I ain't buy that overpriced "Special Edition":o :yay:

I Love them all but i must say between SM ,SM2 & SM3 both the SM2 & SM3 soundtrack are my fave i have so many favorite songs on both of them!:)

I actually really like this soundtrack, and I'm extremely picky about music nowadays.

I am currently in love with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' song.
