Have they said what the price of the wii will be? Or how much is it supposed ot cost? I can't find it anywhere--thanks in advance!

Wikipedia has the launch price for Wii set at $249.99. And they usually have the most accurate intel.

You can't find it anywhere? Are you sure? It's pretty old news.

Anyway: It will retail at $249.99. It will also have Wii Sports included as a game. :)

That sucks... I was only gonna buy it if it was $200. Jesus, 360's arnen't much more than the Wii.

Me thinks you knew this in advance and wanted to make that point.

But, yeah, you should definitely read IGN Wii and see what the Wii is all about. I think you'll come to see that $249.99 will get you a lot further than what you'll be getting when you purchase the Xbox.

No, I really didn't know that. I had heard $200 and $250 and I didn't know which it was. I am a huge Nintendo fan, I have a DS Lite and just got another for my girlfriend.
I already have a 360 but I really wish I had waited. I am just trying to find a way to rationalize buying another system and $200 would have been cheap.
The Wii Sports game doesn't look that great to me...it would be nice if they would let you pick from a few games.

Sad how you're complaining about just $50, and $250 is super cheap for a next gen console, and it includes a game. Sure, 360 is $300, but that's the crap version, so I don't even go by that, I always look at it like 360 is $400.

Exactly, it doesn't include a lot. It has a wired controller, no wi-fi connection, no game, no free live service for a month.

What also irritates me is people that complain about the price of the wii-mote. Why does it irritate me? Well, the price of a 360 wireless controller is 49.99... While the price of a wii-mote (total combo) is 60 bucks, 10 dollars more. Lets think for a second though. The wii-mote has motion sensitive never seen before in console gaming. It knows where its at in 3D space. It has rumble, plus a built in speaker. While the 360 controller only has rumble.

Technology isn't cheap people.

Another point I'd like to make: If you were going to get wii, say for 200 bucks... obviously you weren't expecting a pack-in game. You were likely going to spend 49.99 for a game. Making your total 249.99 plus tax. Consider this as your game is already bought, and don't get a game for a couple weeks. And honestly, your not that big of a Nintendo fan if you didn't know the price of Wii. That doesn't mean you don't dig Nintendo products, your just a fan of what they make. About the wii sports thing being included, a lot of people say that should hold you off for a while game wise. Its very fun.

Nintendo never said the system was going to be 200. They said it wouldnt be higher than 250 and it isnt. That price is still cheaper than the competition so no one should be disappointed. Plus it comes with a game. I beleive Japan's doesnt come with a game and it retails for about $210 USD so take the game into account when complaining about the price, bc thats something PS3 and 360 dont have

Any confirmation on the Canadian price? They better not rip us and make it more then 300.

Hey goofy, it's not NEXT GEN!!

Um, everyone else says it is. Now it is only a modest step up from Xbox 1, this is true, but the controls are so radically different that all gaming sites counts it as next-gen and many ports are going to it as next-gen. Just because it isn't the most powerful graphically speaking does not mean that it isn't next-gen.

And going back any Nintendo fan should be salavating at the oppurtunity to buy for $200 the Nintendo Wii and get the cchance within a year to play Twilight Princess, Metroid 3: Corruption, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Mario Galaxy then.

What?? How is it not next gen? Sure.. it doesn't have too advanced graphics but motion sensor controller used on most games? A speaker on the controller (sure... not too advanced, but still very awesome). Web browser, weather, and news channel on a console? Please tell me how it is not next gen. Sure, they say they aren't competing (sp?) with Sony or Microsoft too much, but that still doesn't mean it's not next gen. Please explain to me.

Edit: Yea.. said pretty much same thing as guy above me.. that's what I get for not refreshing for 10 min or so.

I can't stand it when people complain about the pricing of the Wii. It's rediculous.

Indeed. I mean if you buy the $300 Xbox 360 or $450 PS3, you are an idiot as they are both going to be made obsolete by 3rd parties within 2 years.

So you have a $400 Xbox 360, a $600 PS3 and yet you complain about a $250 Wii.

AND IT IS NEXT-GEN, what with internet capabilities, shopping, news, message boards but most of all better omotion controls. Okay so the graphics aren't as good but Nintendo decided that and most gaming sites and mags are embracing it after playing the Wii-controls.

Also, Nintendo SAYS they are not competing with Sony or Microsoft but you know they are. It is bad business not to. Why is NOA saying "We have a chance to become the market leader again," they're just biding their time until they know for sure Wii is going to fly though.

2) 279.95

Hardly a Nintendo fanboy. Was disappointed with the Cube (blame mostly 3rd party developers for abandoning it, but Nintendo has to also be faulted for trying to make it kid friendly) and thought PS2 was hands down was the best system of last generation (though I still don't like their controllers).

Point is, you are very biased against Nintendo when you are saying $250 is too much, when you already own a 360 you probably paid $500 for and claim Wii is not next-gen though.

Wait, its not next gen cause the graphics aren't on par with 360 and PS3?

Or not next-gen cause the true meaning to next gen is graphics upgrade according to you?

LOL Fan Boys of any kind are the worse! (/after mocking you)

Something else I wanna note is PS2 was my console of choice last gen. It owned.

I'm probably going to wait for it to get cheaper, 250 bucks for an awesome game system is not worth it, I'll probably wait until it gets at least $200, or lower. I don't have that much money :csad:
