Action-Adventure Old Guard | Charlize Theron & Kiki Layne

Ok, I figured it was somewhere in the celebrating crowd at the end. It goes by in two seconds, and with the one's short hair and being at a distance, if you're not really paying attention, you could mistake her for a male fighter pilot.

The civilian (I guess?) woman looks a bit older though, so good for her for landing a younger fighter pilot lover. Git it, Granny.

I really don’t understand why they feel the need to hype up the inclusion of these barely noticeable background characters. As compared to this movie where I had no idea there were any LGBTQ characters until I saw the two of them cuddled together asleep and I was like

But it’s Netflix so I guess they can do whatever they want to.

So I assume they'll give it a sequel....and not cancel it mid production like they've been doing.

Charlize Theron Confirms The Old Guard 2 Filming Soon

The sequel to Netflix's comic book adaptation The Old Guard has a competed script, and will go into production early next year, according to star and executive producer Charlize Theron. She didn't provide many details, but Theron told Variety that not only is the script finished, but the gay couple played by Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli, will "definitely" be returning, too. The Old Guard was one of Netflix's big pandemic hits, and marked one of two major adaptations of comics and graphic novels written by Greg Rucka to be released in the couple of years, along with Stumptown on ABC.

“Somehow it was meant to come out in [2020],” Theron said shortly after the film's release. “And it was meant to just be on people’s TVs. In the end, that’s why I think it was so successful. It thematically speaks to things that people were going through. And so part of me is like, ‘So what if it wasn’t on a big screen?’ I’m not mad at the fact that probably more people saw The Old Guard than any other movie that I’ve ever made, outside of Fast & Furious, in a theater.”

Hopefully has a much better villain this time.

Yes, i was worried they might not make a second one.

Yay Uma Thurman, nay Henry Golding. I do hope the story is more memorable this time though. Last time the characters and the backstories were cool but I thought the story itself was kinda meh.

Nice! This was already the only Netflix movie I've seen that I've actually wanted a sequel to, so these additions are just adding to my hype! Not even particularly worried about the director change as long as Rucka's still writing.
