Few things on Youtube will literally paralyze me. But this s*** right here? Um, yeah. This is like...Arachophobia but on a whole new level of shock. Check this out and prepare to catch your jaw when it drops.

At 0:15 the hair on my neck stood up, no joke. So f***ing nasty. Creatures like this just make me ask the question: Why, Lord, WHY?????? If I had been there personally, I would have lit a match to this b****...just to hear the little babies go 'pop'.

Question: Do any of you suffer from arachophobia or fear of other insects? If so, tell us about your multi-legged nemesis!

UPDATE 3/3/2010
Moderator's Notice:

Okay, I think this thread has retained some very interesting feedback. Therefore, let's broaden the discussion a bit. You're invited to please post pictures of the "ickiest", most weird insects that you can think of...ya know...to educate us and even gross us out. This will be the thread that makes us all itch, because you have to admit that for as ugly as some of these things are, they are fascinating as hell. :oldrazz:

Thanks.

Wolf spiders are pretty cool. I like them very much for this exact reason.

Yeah that to me is more cool than gross. If they are in my house then yeah...they are going to get squished, but outside...I leave them alone. I actually use to catch moths and feed them to the spiders at my house when I was a kid. It was cool to stick the moth on the web and watch the spider do its work.

Dude, really? A big spider is scary enough. But a big spider covered with an infestation of little spiders? That's...that's...that's some Alien/Ripley s*** right here. :csad:

The only cool thing to me is that it looks like the momma has an afro from a distance...[BLACKOUT]and a moving afro at that.[/BLACKOUT] :funny:

Wolf spiders don't bother me much. Although my favorite kind of spiders are jumping spiders.

I never understood the fear of spiders, but if they were maggots... brrrr!

Man LS, all you do is moan about random ****. Sheesh man.

:oldrazz:

But yes, I have a mild case of arachnophobia

I haven't even clicked to see the video yet, and just the still alone from the video before you click to play scared the heck out of me. :(:o

Why the **** would you touch that quivering mass of spider babies? To hell with that!

I think I'm going to unsubscribe from my own damn thread.

And then let me present to you ...........................BAM

goliath-plate.gif

the Goliath spider................it eats birds...and yes that is a dinner plate it it on. enjoy.

I have a rather large case of Arachnaphobia and yet will be watching the video. I will regret this to no end yet I still am going to watch it...

Edit: After watching said video, my reaction was meh. If it had the babies running around all over the place and covering a wall or something I'd probably give a girly shriek and never sleep again, but as it wasn't really moving it wasn't that bad.

Well the urban legend states that we eat an average of 3 or so spiders in our sleep in our lifetime. You sleep with your mouth open, thing crawls in, you close your mouth and swallow.

However, you are more likely to eat parts of a spider in your processed food. A lot of food companies mass produce and it is naive to think that a spider never falls into one of those huge open vats or onto a line of food being processed.

Spiders taste funny, crunchy in the outside but gooey like smores on the inside.

The Preying Mantis. I cry just looking at pics. Due to seeing movies as a child. Like Nine Months and Meet the Applegates. :csad:

Jumping spiders are very harmless and are very similar to cats with their curiousity. Rather than running away or trying to attack they'll actually stare at you, follow you, jump on your hand, and things like that. They're very curious creatures and very intelligent too.

I don't particularly care for spiders but I don't have the phobia. I can watch these just fine. It is kinda creepy though.

Dudage, I actually had this happen to me. I woke up one Sunday morning with a very VIOLENT taste in the back of my mouth. Something...something was...sitting on the back of my tongue encased in my own saliva. I couldn't reach back far enough and get it without gagging/throwing up, so I just...swallowed it. :csad:

Really? See I think Praying Mantises are cool as all get out. They're almost...kinda elegant. Ditto for Bees and Ants...I find them positively fascinating. In fact, I'm generally not afraid of insects overall, but Spiders and Centipedes do it for me. I just can't cope with them. :csad:

Oh and roaches. New Yorker here. I hate them because they are waaaaaaayyy to intelligent for their own good. Roaches literally see you coming and will run from you. Most bugs in their class are dumb and oblivious. But not roaches. I feel that any bug that has that capacity to make a conscientious decision to hide from humans deserves to "pop" over a campfire. :whatever:
