I just went onto Grokster (I was curious. I wasn't going to download anything. I just wanted to snoop around. I was more or less surfing the internet). And it said something to the effect that my IP Adress has been logged. And that I shouldn't think I can't get caught. I wasn't going to do anything wrong! Honest! Am I going to jail for just surfing the internet?! :csad: I'm so scared!! Please tell me if I am or not. And please tell the truth. I'm freaked out of my mind.

This is the end :(

I got this threat one time.

It's just meant to scare you. Nothing bad will happen.

Robert Heinline created the term "GROK"...so technically they stole from him first.....

.....and you better not answer any knocks on your door tonight.

You are damned into the Pit of Punishment.

Please stop it. I'm scared enough as it is. And all your posts saying I'm doomed and stuff is just making it worse.

I have a basement and cookies. They'll never take us alive.

You have nothing to worry about. My entire Ipod should have my family sued poor for the next 12 generations. This thing is really not as high a priority as they make it out to be.

It's just bull****. I get it all the time.

You're not going to go to jail but you're going to get fined like, $5000 or something. They'll send you a letter and if you don't pay you can face charges.

lol. just kidding.

Mmmmmm.....cookies.

I'm calming down now. I'm not ever touching one of those sites again. "If it is free, it has nothing to do with me (Unless it comes from Myspace! hehe)" is my new motto when it comes to downloading music.

First, destroy your computer. Second, if you have a wireless router, and it's locked, open it so anyone can hop on your internet. Third, if the cops come to your door tell them you have no clue as to what they are talking about, then say that your router in on "open" and you think someone might've parked out in front of your place and downloaded said music. Fourth, if you have an MP3 player that has downloaded music on it, get rid of it.

However, if you have downloaded things in which you refuse to lose, transfer them to another hard drive and hide it at a friends place. Then wipe your hard drive or buy a new one.

It worked for me.

I haven't used them in a while but Limewire and Frostwire are pretty good. Torrents are another good alternative but they're confusing if you try to take in everything at once. But piracy is bad for the health, so I give you kudos for staying away from piracy. :o

download Morpheus

you can not get in trouble with it

How can you not get in trouble with it? The only way for you to not get in trouble is for them to charge for the music, right?

The list goes to a National Registry of Sexual Deviants because they use that site to download porn.

Same here, Ipods/PodUtil is probably the most exploited way to steal music. Just the other day I was at this kids house who had 8800 songs on his itunes. I stole 1500 songs in about 5 min and then went home and PodUtilled them and now they're on my own itunes. I've done this more than once too. :woot:
