I just went onto Grokster (I was curious. I wasn't going to download anything. I just wanted to snoop around. I was more or less surfing the internet). And it said something to the effect that my IP Adress has been logged. And that I shouldn't think I can't get caught. I wasn't going to do anything wrong! Honest! Assuming they actually do come knocking on you door (which I doubt)... If you haven't downloaded anything and don't have any pirated music or movies on your computer or in your home, they can't charge you with anything.

It's been a while since I had to set up iTunes. But it should be almost instantaneous, try rebooting your computer.

Well - I've heard enough stories from friends and stuff to be sure that there is really no anonymity on the internet, not really. I have no doubt that the MPAA is out there on all those supposed "safe" sharing/P2P tools or whatever, planting trackable or fake files or something, that's why I stay away. That and fear of viruses (my computer is barely holding it together as it is.)

Glad you seem to be okay, though, Spider - Girl. And, for what it's worth, I had to restart my computer before iTunes 7 would work for me.

You're fine. You didn't download anything. Even if the music industry got ahold of your IP, they only go after the people who download or upload a lot (or so I have heard). There are way too many people downloading to go after everyone. A lot of the news stories I have heard about lawsuits were people who were uploading the music, not downloading it.

I figured out what the problem was and fixed it. And my IQ is higher than 90, just so you know (not that it's relevant). I've had it tested.
