Operation Flashpoint: Red River

I loved playing the Ghost Recon games on PS2... I love the tactical shooting type of games.

I bought it a few weeks ago for the co-op. Its ok, better than the last game. I dont mind the slower pacing, compared to the CoD's and Halo's but there is a LOT of walking from point A to point B. Your squad mates are also pretty dumb, the game is deff best suited for co-op.

Operation Flashpoint 2 was basically the problem with tactical shooters today. It's not willing to be a proper tactical shooter for the sake of mainstream sales. It's a homogenized diluted game that is neither fully mainstream nor hardcore. It results in simply being a bastardized sequel to what Bohemia Interactive made. At the moment it seems to me Bohemia Interactives Arma 2 (and soon to be 3) are the last bastions of traditional hardcore tactical shooters. Even if you just ignore these complaints and look more objectivly at Red River (and 2) they just aren't very good games.
